The team at The George, led by general manager James Fair, hosted my daughter's wedding reception ( wedding breakfast and evening reception) on 15 August 2015. Throughout the planning in the months running up to the wedding James was always there and always helpful, organising every tiny detail to make sure the day was really perfect. Absolutely consummate professionals! We...

Our room was comfortable and had everthing we needed. We ate in the restaurant the first night. The food was spendid. Everything was cooked to perfection and was reasonably priced for such great food. The only regret was not eating the there the second night of our stay. The service was great and the staff very helpful.

The George Hotel hosted my daughter's wedding and what a fantastic job they made of it. Superb venue and with Manager James Fair and his team's meticulous care & attention to detail they produced a fairytale experience. Gorgeous food that tantalised the palate, lovely wines, service with panache and all set in a jewel of a hotel in the heart...

We stayed here for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were welcoming and friendly even phoning a week or so before we arrived to warn us that there was a wedding function at the hotel and explaining which rooms were likely to be quietest. We stayed in room one which was spacious and very clean. We...

All staff were welcoming, friendly and highly professional. We spent two nights in a quiet comfortable bed room at the rear of the hotel. All the required amenities were readily available but mobile coverage in the area is a bit 'iffy.' The George offers good value-for-money overall. The walnut and raisin bread served with cheeses in the evening and the...

This is a lovely presented historic hotel in the centre of Hathersage. The room quality is high standard with all the four/five star inclusions such as Gilcrist and Soames toiletries. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and Eric, the hotel owner, made evening greetings to guests which was a nice touch. There was an excellent choice...

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning and end of a long 6 day circular walk. We have stayed here a couple of times in the past taking advantage of their special offers (the Sunday night package is particularly good), so we knew the rooms would be comfortable with all the facilities you would expect from a £180...

This hotel is positioned on the main road through Hatthersage. It has ample free parking in a secure car park to the rear. We received a warm welcome from the receptionist and the check in was smooth. We were shown to our room and given a tour of amenities before being left to unpack. The hotel is central to places...
