We stayed two nights in this very comfortable guesthouse. Our room was spacious and clean and had a combination of old features and modern conveniences. It had a lovely view and is well placed outside Matlock. The cooked breakfast was very nice with quality ingredients and there was reasonable choice. Despite being on a main road we were unaware of...

This is a great period property. My room had a four poster bed, great view out the window. There was a bath in the bedroom (weird) but a good shower in the bathroom. The guest lounge was very comfortable. Breakfast was good but it was a bit of a pain having to pre-order the night before (to reduce wastage). The...

Tidy and comfortable place at the northern edge of Darley Dale. Easy walk beside the railway into Matlock, good bus links to Derby, Bakewell and Buxton. Be warned, no-one locally does meals on a Sunday evening except the Indian restaurant so if you are not a curry fan, you are bit stuck unless you travel. There is an ok pub...

My new husband and I wanted a very small intimate wedding and so after our ceremony, Kate was kind enough to accommodate our small party of 14 with excellent food and an open bar. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. My only regret is that we can only put 5 stars max on the review as I'd give the...

Lovely welcome and lovely room. We had the loft room and it perfect. Breakfast was lovely with quality produce and so much choice. Bed linen lovely quality and lovely touches in the room. Set in breath taking scenery. Although the guesthouse is just off a busy road this didn't affect our room and the rooms on the road side clearly...

We booked to stay here from Sat to Monday to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and my Husband's 65th birthday and couldn't have chosen anywhere better to stay. We had a ground floor room...

A very beautiful tradition guest house in peaceful countryside surroundings. We were in the annex next to the house, on the ground floor which had its own balcony. Leading in their is a joint dining area for the room above with an honesty bar. Decorated traditional, but the bedroom very modern with sympathetic furnishing. The bed was huge and very...

We. spent a relaxing weekend in this guest house. Rooms very comfortable, with more facilities in them than many hotels I have stayed in, skyTV, tea and coffee, radio, hair dryer, access to iron, excellent wifi, bath and shower. A great view from our bed room over the Derbyshire hillsides and a steam railway in the valley below - delightful!...

We really enjoyed our stay at Holmefield. The owners were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. The house itself is beautiful-we loved the grand decor in the Chatsworth room and appreciated the extra touches such as bath robes. Seeing the steam train from our window was a bonus! The guest...
