Five out of Five Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Delicious food, prompt service & warm ambiance. Everything we could ask for after two hours cycling in the Upper Derwent Valley. Lamb Shank was cooked to perfection and to top it all off the Home made white chocolate cheese cake was one of the best I've ever tasted. Keep up the good work, we...

I have visited this pub twice now for lunch and on both occasions the food was reasonably priced and enjoyable. It's good that they cater for children and have free parking. It is ideal for a pint or a bite to eat after enjoying a scenic walk or a visit to one of the caverns near Castleton.

Based on Trip Advisor, we booked a table for 1.00 for 4 of us, we planned to walk up and over Chrome Hill. We expected something good, but what we got was a friendly welcome, prompt service and the Sunday roasts were perfect, served hot and fresh. The place gets very busy, but we were in at a good time....

The room 2 at the front of the building did not suffer from traffic noise surprisingly. Excellent service by older staff clearly interested in...

Lovely historic pub, ideally located in Castleton. Staff friendly&outgoing. Room decent enough size with ensuite. Breakfast was delicious. Had a good selection of ale for an afternoon/evening tipple. Free car park opposite pub for pub/hotel users. Seemed very popular with locals and tourists alike. Would stay again and will recommend to friends.

Had a wonderful stay her last night. Spotlessly clean rooms, bedding etc. Lovely cosy bar and very friendly staff. The breakfast was great, full english, toast, fruit, cereals and the member of staff who served breakfast this morning was very polite and helpful, can't fault this and will return.
