We stayed at The Castle for 1 night on a B&B basis, the greeting we received was very friendly and helpful. We parked quite easily in the Carpark at the rear of the property. We found our room to be very clean and quaint. We even had a corner bath. The food was lovely,we tried the platter to start and...

Stayed for two nights over Easter. Although we've eaten at Vintage Inns on numerous occasions this is the first time we've stayed at one. We did however get a good offer including a free upgrade to full English breakfast and decided to give it a try. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and had a very enjoyable...

Had a mother daughter day out with my mum today and we decided to go to the Castle for lunch. We've been here before and we've never been disappointed. The food, drinks and service are all amazing and especially today, we had a friendly young woman as our waitress. I'd recommend eating here if you are in the area as...

Castleton is a very pretty, well situated and understandably very popular village, and the cost of accommodation tends to reflect this, though indeed it seemed there were not many vacancies in the village. We stayed at The Castle Innkeepers Lodge mid March, and had a very comfortable if unremarkable couple of nights there. We were in the annex across the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you're looking for a hotel in the Peak District, Innkeeper's Lodge in Castleton occupies a magical spot in a beautiful corner of Derbyshire.Nestled amongst the hills of Hope Valley, and surrounded by stark limestone crags, wild moors, sheer rock edges and intriguing caves, it's clear to see why Castleton is known as the honey-pot of the Peak District.A coaching inn since the 1800s, The Castle is tucked underneath haunted Peveril Castle, from which it takes its name. Country pubs don't come much cosier. Here you can refuel with heart-warming pub-food, well-kept cask ales and well-chosen wines, before retiring to one of the comfy, characterful rooms. The Castle is close to four show caverns, where you can explore vaulted chambers, bottomless pits, gemstone mines and underground canals via boat. There's plenty more to see and do nearby, with some of the country's best footpaths winding through the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park. ... more   less
