Our two night stay was excellent. Delightful and charming Inn, good sized double bedroom with en-suite. Continental breakfast was excellent, and the cooked breakfast for those with big appetites looked delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. The Inn is situated in the centre of the village and an ideal place for walking or cycling.

Lively atmosphere in the pub, continental breakfast okay, full English looked delicious. Not a lot to do round Castleton however, always a drive out to do something we found. The room was gorgeous, best part of the weekend by far! Thanks for the stay!

Husband and I stayed for one night as we wished to do some walking on Mam Tor and Lose Hill. Very reasonable. It's a pub so don't expect complete silence if staying in rooms upstairs. Facilities were grand , our shower was a bit noisy but that was all. Lovely fires in pub. Stayed there for the night. Food reasonable...

We booked a 2 night stay (10th & 11th), unfortunately we only managed to stay the one night due to our baby being ill and having to return home. We stayed in room 3 which was in the main building, it was lovely, everywhere was spotlessly clean, nice big bathroom, and the best pillows ever on the bed. All of...

We booked an overnight stay and asked for a quiet high room but we got a a small room at the front of the Lodge on the ground floor and we were very aware of the passing traffic on the main road outside along with the roadworks outside who were laying water pipes.Other than that we had lovely meal in...

Me and my girlfriend arrived a little early so we parked the car in the free car park and went for a long walk to Mam Tor, on our return we were greeted and given our room number and key. Room 14, we opened the door and saw a stair case! We had a mezzanine type room with wooden beams...

The room was beautiful, clean and full of character, decorated with real taste. The breakfast was delicious. The staff went out of their way to help us when we got stuck with the local transport. Thank you so much for great care!!! We will be back!

Booked a table over the phone and this was very good.. we needed a table for 14 and the gentleman I spoke to was very obliging. We arrived on time and were shown to our table. We sat in the room to right of the bar and large table. Orders were taken after quite a wait. Food was slow in...

I stayed with my husband on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, leaving on 27th December. There were lots of positives, so I'll save my reason for the review to the end. The village is beautiful and in stunning surroundings - the location is perfect for a Christmas break. The 'Lodge' is an upmarket pub with accommodation, plus a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you're looking for a hotel in the Peak District, Innkeeper's Lodge in Castleton occupies a magical spot in a beautiful corner of Derbyshire.Nestled amongst the hills of Hope Valley, and surrounded by stark limestone crags, wild moors, sheer rock edges and intriguing caves, it's clear to see why Castleton is known as the honey-pot of the Peak District.A coaching inn since the 1800s, The Castle is tucked underneath haunted Peveril Castle, from which it takes its name. Country pubs don't come much cosier. Here you can refuel with heart-warming pub-food, well-kept cask ales and well-chosen wines, before retiring to one of the comfy, characterful rooms. The Castle is close to four show caverns, where you can explore vaulted chambers, bottomless pits, gemstone mines and underground canals via boat. There's plenty more to see and do nearby, with some of the country's best footpaths winding through the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park. ... more   less
