Our room was big and extremely clean. The staff were polite and helpful, the breakfast was amazing ( the sausage were delicious) and was included in the price of our stay!!! We ate dinner in the evening and it was served super quick and the burgers were the best we have ever had, pity they were so large we didn't...

We stayed the night and found our loo did not work, the excellent young chap behind the bar gave us instructions and knocked £10 off the bill. However it overflowed all night making a din. There is a skylight in the room that we didn't realise had no blind. So you are awakened first light with a shaft of sunlight...

We've wanted to visit for a little while and stopped in for a coffee after a walk last weekend. Although the coffee & scones we had were nice, the staff member who served us was quite rude. We asked if we could have a cream tea but with coffee instead of tea and when there was some confusion about what...

Such a great place. We were in room 1 with a perfect view. The room was big and beautifully styled and extremely clean. I loved everything about this place. The staff were super helpful. Theres ample car parking over the road and a few spaces in front of the inn. Although the inn sits just after a turn so you...

We had been for a walk upto the water cascade & after stopped here for a bit of lunch. I ordered a hot beef & onion sandwich & my friend a ham & cheese sandwich & a bowl of chips each on the side. My sandwich was ok, nothing special, a huge breadcake with a small piece of beef &...

Came here for Sunday tea on a cold snowy day. It was quite cosy and welcoming and the food was very good. Two of our family had the steak and ale pie, one had the pheasant pie, and one had the Sunday roast. It all went down very well and the portions were a good size. Unfortunately, we had no...

Stayed overnight. Rooms were all being refurbished though ours was due for new carpets as we left. Nevertheless our room was warm, clean and comfortable. We had our evening meal there and the food was excellent...good menu, good value, well prepared and presented. Breakfast was awesome! Staff very friendly and helpful. All in all a very relaxing break. Highly recommended

Called in lunchtime today with a couple of friends after a good walk in the lovely countryside surrounding the pub. I ordered a hot beef and onion sandwich at a cost of £5.95. All our sandwiches arrived within 5 minutes of ordering, and it soon became obvious why. I had two pieces of dried up beef (obviously left over from...

Visited here on Boxing Day, very busy with families and walkers, good that dogs are allowed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food however wasn't up to scratch, my partners steak and ale pie had a crust that was overbaked and hard and my gnocchi was pretty tasteless, also one of our party had to ask 3 times for...

I stayed in the b & b part of the pub over new year and all I can say is it's brilliant and can't wait to go back. The rooms are basic but are very clean and have everything you need including free wifi. The pub itself is a real find, old style with open fires, lovely food and a...
