We've stayed here twice now, once in the B&B and once in the cottage. Both are lovely. We're always made to feel welcome and breakfast is great. We chose The Lilacs as it's so close to Alton Towers, just 15min drive away and much cheaper than the B&B in the village close to the theme park. We've already booked the...

We stayed here after a family occasion and found it ideal , just on the edge of Ashbourne and far superior than the nearby T********e . National hotel franchises adjust their tariffs according to demand ( there was a big event in the area ) but privately run B & B s are far more personal , comfortable and enjoyable...

We stayed here last night and we were very disappointed. The whole place is very dated and the room (ONE) was very small, and the en-suite smaller. The mattress was hard and my back ached all day the day after. We had to open the window as the room was warm and stuffy but then the very busy A 52...

A pleasant homely B&B just outside Ashbourne. Well placed for the town or onward visits to the "Potteries" and outlets of Stoke on Trent. The bedroom was nicely furnished and the breakfast was very enjoyable. It was good value for money and we would happily return , the next time we are in need of some more pottery . The...

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the warm and helpful proprietor who could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. She even printed off our boarding passes for us. The room was comfortable and clean but very small. Good supply of tea and coffee making products. The bathroom would benefit from modernising. The access stairs to the rooms...

We had a lovely time. The host was very friendly and even upgraded our room for free when we arrived. We therefore ended up staying in the self-catering cottage which was ideal for us (couple and baby). Breakfast was excellent- freshly made and good choice. Cot and high chair was provided. Excellent location for outings around Ashbourne. Only slight disadvantage...

Clean and pleasant room, slept well. Breakfast was good. Enjoyable stay and value for money. Good option for a stay close to Alton Towers. Owner was friendly and welcoming, room was large enough for us. We would consider returning.
