My first ever stay at a B&B and I was pleasantly surprised, having usually stayed in bland hotels at the same cost the rooms and service offered at the Cumberland Lodge were a step up. Bedroom was fantastic, large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and George and Joan were extremely welcoming and helpful, with George even taxiing me around...

I have stayed at the Cumberland Lodge on a few occasions now. Every time I always get the same friendly warm welcome, George and Joan are the perfect hosts, always taking time to make you feel at home. I was disappointed to see the last review regarding hairs on the bedding as every time I have stayed the bedding was...

Your Sat Nav takes you too a pair of large open wrought iron gates, you look down a long drive over some stables to what looks like a small stately home and you think this can't be it but IT IS. On arrival I received a very friendly greeting which immediately made me feel at home. I was asked if...

How often do you get the opportunity to stay in a residence of such stature?? An impressive building, which is fronted by a former racing stables. The views to the rear of the property are those that you dream about. But all this grandeur comes with a surprise. That surprise being your hosts, George and Joan. A more open, warm,...

Stayed for three nights. Hardly out of the car before George was beckoning us in and produced a pot of tea. Nice room with huge bed, nice bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Good night's sleep and Joan's breakfast really had us set up for the day. In the evening George would invite us into the lounge and enquire about our...
