I chose to stay here because it was a traditional country pub and was located close to the fells but also to Ulverstone where have relatives. The room was excellent, large and with a good bathroom. Meals were tasty and large servings. Unfortunately my wife was taken ill and had to be hospitalised in Barrow. Steve and Lucy were extremely...

We booked for one night into this Inn, it was last moment decision, but we weren't disappointed. It's a bit out of the way, but a very pleasant place, the room was small, but had all we needed, it's a very old place and well kept, the staff were very helpful and attentive, and the food was very good, and...

The location was idyllic with open countryside views from our room . The bedroom and infact the whole pub was spotless. The beds were comfortable and the en-suite was quite large for a country pub and I can't emphasize enough how spotless it was. The food was good --typical pub food and the breakfast was second to none .

The Red Lion Inn is a very traditional, unspoilt place in a beautiful area. We were delighted with our special meal for twelve while on a family holiday; everyone enjoyed the occasion. Our tables were set out in a slightly separate part of the pub so that we felt as if we had our own area. The food was delicious...

Just a few minutes drive from Coniston Water, the Red Lion is an ideal place to stay for visitors wishing to explore the southern Lake District. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and well stocked with shampoo, biscuits, bottled water etc. in addition to the usual tea and coffee. The food is good value for money and the beer...

My husband and I stayed here for a night mid March and found the accommodation very comfortable with a strong hot shower and well equipped ensuite. We watched the end of the Six Nations with other locals in the bar area and Steve very kindly brought out bowls of hot chips to keep our spirits up in the second half....

Thirteen of us on a stag weekend, staying at nearby Lowick Old School bunkhouse, all arrived without warning for some reinvigoration following a very tiring day on the water. Steve was very amenable to our visit, provided some great drinks and even allowed us to take the remainder of one of the spirits 'on the house' to ensure that the...
