Just popped in for a drink as this place is really a village pub. I was only here for less than an hour but afterwards my clothes smelt of chip fat. Must be a lack of ventilation in the kitchen area I guess. Limited selection of beers/ales -there are much better places to drink in Ulverston. Wine selection is appalling...

Off the main road but well worth a visit if you are passing. Local traditional pub with great local ales and good grub at reasonable prices. Friendly welcome and they do themed nights. Has B and B too I understand.

Very shabby room with socket hanging off the the wall, room had no clothing storage, the carpet looked dirty, poor shower pressure. Nothing like the pictures. Asked but refused alternative room as told hotel was full yet the room next door remained empty for duration of stay.

This is actually in Bardsea not Ulverston, local pub with accommodation as well. We stopped off on a Sunday evening for a drink and found a great atmosphere with cheese and biscuits laid out to sample, great idea.. We returned for a meal a couple of days later, so pleased we did, lovely steak and ale pie, son loved his...

No one in when we arrived but the back door was open. The owner then appeared and gave us our key. Asked us what time we wanted breakfast. It would have been nice to have known what time it was served! Anyway the choice was 6.30am - 8.30am. This seemed rather early compared to most hotels/BB's but we opted for...

This is not a hotel. Not recommended for any female travelling on business. The owner was very unwelcoming and clearly didn't like the idea of women staying on their own. No food was served on the Monday evening and with no other eateries in the village it was necessary to go into Ulverston. This was very inconvenient after a very...

This is a unique place to enjoy a drink. The Landlady Katy and the locals who frequent the place are welcoming and friendly. It serves the Very Best Steak and Ale pie in the world. This is homemade by Katy's mum Gwen. The Ship is in the throws of being renovated and it is now looking modern and comfortable. On...
