A fabulous setting for camping by the side of the lake with mountain views. A true get away as there is no / very little phone signal, which is perfect for a relaxing and destressing break. There are lots of great walks around and about and a lovely pub in the village of patterdale within walking distance. The only downside...

I have been calling in to this campsite for about 40 years now, and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet lakeside site with no sign of the "housing estate" mentality on the site - in other words, no regulated pitches, no power hookups, no gravelled and flattened areas. As usual we loved it and had a...

This campsite is situated right above the lake, with beautiful scenery and walks. There was some noise on the first day from some building works, but this did not affect the stay. The campsite is quite hilly, but I think this is to be expected with the location, and the scenery certainly compensates for this. There are showers, wash basins...

We had a three day trip to Side Farm and after reading all the reviews we decided to choose this site. When we arrived we did struggle to find it as its very well hidden. But we got there eventually, we had to pay the entire weekend in full upon arriving. The cafe/tea room is about 3/4s mile away from...

My fiancee and I had previously stayed one night at Side Farm on a busy August bank holiday weekend, which was our reconnaissance for a panoramic, picturesque three night stay a couple of weeks later. There is a large converted barn as you enter the two hundred by fifty metre (approx.) site with two private shower cubicles and three toilets...

Myself and my other half stayed at the farm camping for two nights. We were a little worried at first as there are some rather negative reviews.... To briefly summarise,... -Excellent toilet and shower block (can't understand the basic comments as there is toilet paper, hand soap, it's clean and there is a roof over your head, trust me for...

This was mine and my husbands second visit to side farm, but our 2.5yr olds first visit. We always love the warm welcome and the stunning views we see from side farm looking at glenridden and hellvelen. We managed to get a lovely pitch on the farm. Close enough to the toilet/shower block since we came with a lil one....

We have just got back from a 2 night stay at this campsite, after reading a few negative reviews we were not too sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. Yes the drive to the site is bumpy and a small country lane but this was not a problem in the slightest. The views from this site were amazing,...

This site is located down a farm track and feels remote, it has the mountains behind and the lake in front making very picturesque. The facilities are fine but basic, and there is also a couple of washing machines and dryers on site if needed. It does get busy so it is worth arriving early so you can get a...

This is a really poor campsite. Only about 2% of pitches are actually flat and attempts to find one of these golden pitches are all the more hindered by the cars parked amongst the tents- it really wouldn't be that hard to designate one of the major slopes as the car park and thus allow more people to camp on...
