Can't understand why we were the only people here when we stayed. I would expect a bunkhouse to be much more basic. This was a really cosy building with a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and good showers. Good selection of boardgames too and useful touches like newspaper to help dry walking boots. 10 mins walk from town, it's...

A group of 7 older men shared this comfortable bunkhouse which had excellent facilities & we cooked one night & walked to the pub the other nights. We were mountaining biking -- ticked off Gisburn Forest, Helvellyn , Howgill Fell & finally finished off with Whinlatter.

Excellent. We stayed overnight in the farmhouse on a bed and breakfast. Arrived quite late and Heather made us feel really welcome. The room was lovely, with everything you could want. A great bathroom, comfortable bed and tea/coffeee/biscuits etc. Breakfast was first class and I would most definitely stay here again if walking this way.

Stayed here in the bunk barn twice now and will be returning next year ... well presented and clean with most amenities and more you would expect for a bunk barn ... ideally placed for most walks around the near by mountains and lakes and a short walk to the pub around the corner .. people are friendly especially Ben...

Stayed overnight doing the Coast to Coast with my dog, which was constantly followed by farmdogs when we went outside. It didn't look like there was anyone in, but after a while of knocking, ringing the bell and calling the hostess did turn out to be there and she was most helpful and pleasant. The room was very nice with...

What a nice surprise, coming to this hostel. Cost less than the last one I stayed at and so much more to offer. Warm welcome. Tea/coffee making facilities as I arrived, after a day of walking the Coast to Coast. Modern facilities and immaculately clean. When I arrived I had a few travelling issues and Heather was so helpful.

Great stay in the bunkhouse while we were on the coast to coast. Facilities were very good-- toilets shower and kitchen rooms were really comfy and clean, breakfast was lovely. Lovely to be on a working farm. Another of our party stayed in the bed and breakfast their room looked great-- the only reason why this is 4/5 for me...

What a wonderful surprise this bunkhouse turned out to be! It had good facilities , was clean and welcoming! The host was friendly and unfortunately we had brought our own breakfast and did not experience the renowned do it yourself meal! The only improvement would be to have a blind on the roof window in the six bed room.

Stayed at Noran Bank Farm in June on our way across England on the Coast to Coast route and found it welcoming and comfortable. Real old Cumbrian farmhouse with a great bunkhouse attached. Our room in the farmhouse was cosy and with some thoughtful touches including a tray with blister plasters and painkillers! Excellent breakfast and packed lunch and highly...

We stayed here for 1 night on our coast to coast walk. Although we didn't arrive until early evening and were back on our way early the next day we were very impressed with the accommodation during our short stay. There were 7 of us and we had the bunkhouse to ourselves. It has a really well equipped kitchen and...
