This place was a great surprise, we were received by Joyce, she is fantastic. We slept in a room with 2 beds and one bathroom, the room has a nice size and pretty decoration. The breakfast is cooked at the moment and is English breakfast plus some yogurts and cereal, the food is very nice Thanks for everything

We stayed here 3 nights and spent more time here than the average visitor. Ian, the owner was very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. For folks doing the Coast to Coast walk he has huge maps & much personal experience of the route. He is a wealth of information about the area & the history of the hotel. Each room has...

Excellent location on the route of coast to coast. Ian could not be more helpful, his knowledge of the walk having completed by himself and his young daughter is great. Well stocked bar and other items including everything you need for pack ups and blisters all done with an honesty box. Breakfast excellent, lovely smoked salmon and fresh fruit, would...

Well established b&b for Coast to Coast walkers with all the atmosphere that you might expect. Clean and comfortable en-suite room with a good view of the ascent we would be making the next morning. Used to have a restaurant and a bar but is now just doing b&b. Although there is an honesty bar there. Very good cooked breakfast...

Great location just close to the White Horse (recommended). Pleasant B&B with nice extra touches such as the honesty bar. Joyce could not have been more helpful in helping us plan the next day walking route on the C2C. Good breakfast. Note. The B&B is closed this season for evening food. AW stayed here and Julia Bradbury bought shortbread in...

We walked into Patterdale through the grounds of the Patterdale Hotel and then it's a fair walk to the hotel along the main road in Patterdale. We were advised (by our courier company Coast2Coast Packhorse) that dinner was available at the local pub, The White Lion (more of which later!!) so were a bit concerned when we arrived quite late...

This was our fourth visit to oldwater view and the welcome , service and quality of accomodation were as excellent as ever. Ian is incredibly knowledgable about the C2C and with the next day to Shap being a long haul ( especially from kidsty pike) can offer great advice on alternative options. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast...

This is a lovely old B&B, situated along a beautiful river. Our spacious, comfortable room overlooked the river. We were on a hiking trip across the north of England and accidentally left a hiking pole here. We are grateful to the proprietor, Ian, for arranging to have the pole promptly delivered to our next stop. In evaluating our B&B rooms...

Ian was a gracious host at the Old Water View. We arrived totally soaked and were immediately able to dry all our gear in a well equipped drying room right inside the front door. Ian had a well stocked supply of everything walkers could need and ran an honesty system on payment. Loved our quiet room and yummy breakfast.
