A very unique hotel right on Lake Windermere. Excellent warm friendly service from the moment you arrive. Plenty to do in and around the hotel. Stayed for three nights which was perfect. Managed to see lots without the need of a car as the hotel is located in a perfect location. The Lakeland Aquarium, Steam railway, and Lake cruises are...

A great find for a business awayday mixing meetings in the mornings and dinners at night. All the staff friendly and helpful and many knowing regular guests and the local area well. Comfortable bar and common areas with a good outside area overlooking the lake. Room was a long walk from reception, but was large, clean and comfortable. Shower and...

The hotel has an atrium which overlooks the lake and is so comfortable. Afternoon tea in the atrium is a must. The room was...

Just returned from another wonderful stay at this small piece of heaven in the Lake District. Room (71) 4 poster bed, jacuzzi bath and large walk in shower has been tastefully redecorated since our last stay. Very tasteful, maintains and improves on the charm with wonderful views over the lake. Having stayed at this hotel many times over the last...

My wife and I spent the 2 nights, (Friday & Saturday) in the Lakeside. As soon as we entered the hotel we were greeted by a friendly face and that set the tone for the rest of the weekend. The location is great, the ferry pier is 100m away. No need to use your car once you are parked up...

We stayed here on 2 June for just one night and regretted not staying longer. We were in a garden room with patio doors opening onto a terrace overlooking the lake. Our room was also ten steps away from the spa, so bathrobes were perfect. This hotel has real style. The bistro/bar area is very contemporary and contrasts with the...

Stayed here with the family for a close family members birthday and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and were happy to deal with anything like parking the car, taking bags to room, making up our sons bed while we were at dinner. The location was just awesome with spectacular views over lake Windermere. The...

Besides the following problems the hotel is in a great location and friendly helpful staff. The room cost for a night (£179) is extremely high for what little you get. Our room (No 70) was no better than an ordinary guest house. We had problems that were mentioned but no offer to reduce the price. The bedspread was stained, the...
