Beautiful hotel set by the lake. The hotel is full of character, warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, we found all the staff very friendly and helpful and they seem to genuinely care about their customers. the room was clean and comfortable, with quite a large bathroom, which provided fabulous toiletries! Would recommend a...

A lovely weekend for a special birthday, our lake view room was clean, cosy and well appointed with a lovely view. The spa was relaxing and quiet and the treatments were very good. The service and food in the restaurant was to a high standard and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A small point was there were only...

Just returned from the Lakeside Hotel and Spa with my wife and son for my wife's birthday. Hotel was great, it felt like a home from home. Staff were very friendly and attentive, the service in the John Ruskin restaurant in particular was excellent, our waitress Emma was brilliant with our 4 year old son. Only niggles I can point...

We spent three nights at The Lakeside, our second trip there albeit the first one was 12 years ago. The hotel was exactly as we remembered with a lovely, warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were so helpful, food in Ruskin's Brasserie absolutely delicious and amazing breakfasts. Nothing seems too much trouble at The Lakeside.

Great hotel with service to match, don't touch the brassiere. Lovely setting, we stayed 3 nights and had a Great Lake view suite. We spent two nights dining in the lakeside restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. On the sat night it was already full so tried the brassiere. Nothing in comparison to the main restaurant. My challenge to the head...

My wife invited all our family to The Lakeside to celebrate her special birthday. We have stayed here previously and have always enjoyed the laid back , relaxing ambience. The staff, as usual, were always professional and friendly and we dined in both restaurants. This time they had changed the menu choice and only offered one menu for both instead...

Had afternoon tea today to celebrate a friends birthday. Wow what lovely food especially the toffee jam!!! hot soup to start was a nice touch and the cakes were divine. Also nice to have such a huge selection of teas with the opportunity to have a different one too. The staff were amazing. Very efficient but unintrusive. Pity about the...

We stayed here in a large family group and were very well looked after. We had a family suite which was large with a little anti-room for the children and there were nice touches like Ribena and chocolate bars left for the children. The passageway is maybe a little tired but our family room has just been redecorated, the hotel...

Lots of small areas where you could relax in comfort including comfy chairs near real fires . The view from the conservatory was stunning a lovely place to sit any time but especially after breakfast and dinner. The restaurant was excellent, food, service and wine list fabulous. The room was a good size and the sofa again was comfortable for...

It is about two years since I offered the wife afternoon tea. I finally got round to it last week. The choice of Lakeside Hotel was right. The setting is beautiful, on the southern tip of Lake Windermere, with the yachts I can't afford tied to the jetties. The hotel is worth a visit. We had the standard afternoon tea...
