We stayed at the Old Vicarge at the end of March and found it to be splendid! A beautiful old Victorian building, immaculately kept and in an idyllic spot. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was particularly impressive. There were thoughtful little touches like fresh milk and homemade biscuits in our room to. In fact on departure, we were... More

This was a wonderful base for our short Lake District break - we were combining two days of walking with two evenings of Wedding and Ruby Wedding celebrations. The Old Vicarage was comfortable and welcoming, with everything we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves. A lovely location, very well set up for our every need, with a friendly and professional... Breakfast was great, a nice choice and beautifully cooked. Homemade marmalade and even a little chocolate bunny on Easter Sunday. We had a room in the main house (1st floor) - very clean... More

We chose The Old Vicarage for a 2 night stay over the Easter weekend whilst attending a friends wedding nearby and what a fantastic choice we made. The guest house stands alone in beautifully kept gardens, with a gravel driveway and fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding Lakeland countryside. On arrival we were greeted by Jane who I believe owns... More

My brother and I decided to take our farther and grandma to the Lake District for a weekend of relaxation, peace & quiet and obviously a few walks. After researching a number of different accommodation options we decided on the old vicarage which turned out to be the best decision we have made for quiet sometime. Absolutely everything about our... More
