Just visited overwater hall today for my mams 50th birthday. Seven of us had afternoon tea. Sandwiches, scones, cakes, biscuits and cheesecake where absolutely delicious all of this was home made. I have been for afternoon tea at lots of different places and this was the best afternoon tea I've ever had! Both service and food amazing!

We chose not to eat in the hotel as it's menu was a bit too fancy for us, £50 per head for 4 courses. Other than that, this is a stunning place to stay. We were in a turret room, with panoramic views across the countryside through 4 windows. Varying tariffs depending on how you book, we paid £150 for...

Living in Cumbria we made the decision to take a break right on our doorstep rather than go further afield and I'm glad we did! Everything about the hotel is most welcoming - the setting, the rooms, the friendly staff. The food is excellent & there is an extensive wine list to suit all pockets and taste. It's no wonder...

We stayed at Overwater Hall for 4 nights and just loved it. The accommodation was fantastic to a high standard and the service faultless . The owners and their staff were incredibly welcoming and did everything thing they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Both breakfast and Dinner was of a very high standard , with lots of choice...

This was our fourth of fifth visit to Overwater, a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life where we can recharge our batteries and start to feel human again. As we walked through the front doors we we delighted to see the swallows' nests in the porch awaiting the arrival of last year's tenants, back from Africa around...

Visited Overwater for a belated Valentines dinner, been a number of times before and have never been disappointed. Lovely meal in a lovely setting. Staff were excellent as always and despite a couple of minor glitches the meal was faultless. Staff dealt with a very rude, obnoxious fellow diner very professionally despite his demands being totally unreasonable. Will be back...

The hotel its self is really nice, our room was a superior one, with a big bathroom and a nice seating area as well plenty of coffee and tea and fresh milk, shortbread and a nightcap drink as well which was a nice touch. The food was excellent fine dining,...

If this hotel is considered 3 star then there is something wrong with the star rating system. In reality, it is more like 5 star. Beautiful location and building. Absolutely, spotlessly clean and their restaurant serves delicious food. Cannot fault this place and so glad we came across it. Staff are charming as well. Our room overlooked the garden with...

Overwater Hall is tucked away in a secluded little glen. The day we visited the grounds were carpeted with snowdrops. We had afternoon tea in the lounge at a table near the french doors where we could see the many birds visiting the bird feeder but also feel the comfort of the open fire. The hotel has what I would...

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 4-night honeymoon at Overwater Hall, and couldn't have wished for a better time. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious, with luxurious bedding and a large bathroom. The tea-making facilities in the room included fresh, cold milk in a flask, and homemade shortbread biscuits replenished daily, and the complimentary homemade liqueur 'nightcap' was a very...
