Had a nice beer and the pub is in a convenient spot from the Ravenglass and Eskdale steam railway line for walkers and explorers. Supposedly over 185 whiskeys behind the bar on offer, about 6 or 7 different taps of beer available.

Stayed here for one night on a circuit of lakes. Good location, food good mussels were lovely. Men in our group enjoyed the beer/ale selection. Room clean could have done with a lick of paint. Boot a quiet location

Called in for a pint after a walk in the hills and booked for tea... food was fresh, tasted great and reasonably priced. Service was great and the pub had a good atmosphere Children's portions were a good size
