This was our second stay in a few months, and we will definitely be returning. Very peaceful with lovely views and the owners are perfect hosts. The food is superb, you should book in for dinner, bed and breakfast and you won't be disappointed. Its fairly quiet so if you want a base for the Lakes away form the hustle...

The hotel is located at the peaceful end of Derwent Water about 4 miles from Keswick (which is a bustling town). It’s an attractive traditional country house style place with an extension and looks impressive set back from the road in its own grounds. There is plenty of parking space a short walk from the building although I’d recommend driving...

A fantastic stay and a great location for our climb up Scafell Pike from Seathwaite (15 min drive away). The accommodation was excellent, we went for a superior room which was well worth it, great views and a lovely bathroom. We ate at the Hotel both nights and the food was exceptional, really good value accompanied by a wide range...

Stayed here just one night, but long enough to be impressed by the standard of accommodation, the service, and the food. Our room (9) wasn't very big, but the standard of furnishing and decor was very high. For one night it was perfectly adequate. The ensuite bathroom was a good size and very well fitted out. The view from the...

We stayed for one night during a weekend visit to the Lakes District. As it was a few miles from Keswick, the nearest large village we elected to dine in for the evening, and were very pleased with the innovative menu and quality of the food served. The room was lovely, quite large and had recently been renovated. It was...

Room 9 We stayed here for 1 night on our way from Norfolk to Scotland. We booked a standard room which was , by any standard extremely small. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. However the sound insulation was not good , every footstep could be heard let alone the noise in our room when they ran...

Reading the reviews I have to say I feel the standard was more boarding house than country hotel. The room was small but comfortable with good beds and toiletries. The luxury rooms were spacious but had a queen size bed.The area is beautiful and the gardens lovely. Breakfast was very average, buffet of boxed cereals, small bowl of tinned grapefruit, prunes,...

We have just returned from a wonderful four night stay at Leathes Head. Everything about our stay was simply perfect; from the location of the hotel (walking distance to Derwent Water), our room (fabulous power shower), the hotel staff, the breakfasts and the fabulous dinners. We wish we could have taken the chef home with us!! Thank you.
