We have visited this hotel now for 21 years without a break, experiencing from when it was known as the Lodore Swiss, through the terrible years when it was owned by Hilton, and now since take over by the Grove family. It is in an incomparable position at the head of Derwent water with truly amazing views of the Lake,...

A bit of an old fashioned place, but in a pristine F-reg maroon montego vanden plas sense. Room was comfy with lovely soft towels and some other nice bits. No noise either. Breakfast was nice too, although I was tempted to ask where the rest of it was when it was brought to me. Bar had a couple of nice...

Stayed here for a weekend in March 2017. Got a good deal, probably due to the massive construction going on outside. However, this is clearly mentioned on their website and does not intrude at all once inside. Decent sized car park across the road which is free for guests. As stated, you can bring your dog along and they can...

Excellent food, rooms and staff particularly welcoming. Great for dogs but not at all intrusive as everything is excellently managed by hotel. Will be back soon. When refurbishments are completed the only issue will be availability as it will be so popular ! Well done Lodore Falls.

Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and professional. Food was very good. The room was newly decorated to a high standard and was well equipped. I would have given 5 star if the spa had been open. I was really disappointed to find the leasure facilities closed. I think this should of been brought to our attention at time of booking.

Stayed for 1 night and found it a classy and comfortable hotel. Weather was terrible so was glad of the friendly and early check in and a bath with loads of hot water! Room was spotlessly clean with a good bed and facilities. The Guinness in the bar was top drawer served up by very friendly and professional staff. I...

Stopped en route and visited the falls. Wanted a scone bit the kitchen was closed at 5.30pm, so had to have a pint. It's great that they accept walkers into this exceptional hotel. Meals seemed really reasonably priced and so was the beer. Atmosphere is special and very relaxing. Loads of room and rooms to relax in. Think that they...

This hotel has had a major makeover and there's a £9 million development of a health & fitness centre underway. It's unusual to find a place in the Lake District that does not have a walkers' entrance and bar/eating area, so in our slightly muddy boots we entered by the main door into the carpeted reception area. Our boots were...
