My son and I stayed here overnight before an activity day out with Endless Adventure North East nearby. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast was superb. Our hostess was warm and friendly. Price was very fair. I would stay here again.

In the area for the Tour of Britain with our cycles, Greycroft is but a short stroll back into Alston for an excellent dinner. On arrival we were given a welcome cup of tea and home made shortbread after putting the bikes away in the spacious garage. Room was very comfortable, with everything you could wish for. Was greeted on the doorstep by a friendly smile and a warm welcome. We were drenched to the skin and was immediately offered shortcake, scone, tea and coffee and our packs and clothes were drying in no time. It was still torrential outside and as it's about 600 yards to the village , Pat offered to drive us in and... More

Our first stop on the last leg of our Pennine Way journey. We were given a warm welcome, the room and bathroom were large and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, cereals, fruit, cooked breakfast and toast. Everything we could have wanted was provided.

Unbelievable!! we even needed laundry, and it was made for us!! I forgot items in the room, and they were delivered to a nearby location, for me to pick them up. Additionally, the breakfast was superb!

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of October 2014. Charming lady host, lovely accommodation. Super breakfast, which we ate watching the birds having theirs in the garden. Alston is close by, the accommodation being close to the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast routes. Staying in Alston? Stay here!

I've stayed in many nice hotels and b and bs- but Pat is quite simply the kindest and most accommodating landlady I've ever come across. We arrived wet and cold on Tuesday night and nothing was too much trouble for her. The room and bathroom are perfectly clean and spacious and are full of thoughtful little touches. Pat just goes...
