We booked via secret escapes package. We arrived at 14:30 having spent the day at Cheshire oaks, we were told that out room wasn't ready ( hard to believe when you have to check out at 10:30) we were told to leave our bags at reception and they would take them to our room....we went for a drink in the...

I thought the meal may have been a triumph of style over substance but this was style with substance !!! Good sized portions of excellent food beautifully presented . Highly recommended . The Hotel may not be a real Medieval Castle but it certainly looks and feels like one but with all modern comforts .

4 of us went to Peckforton 1851 last Friday (11/12/15) and we made use of their complementary pick up service. Special note to our driver Ryan, who was very polite and conscientious about his work and the company, a real ambassador> When we got to the castle we had pre dinner drinks down stairs and there was no rush to...

Wow. Wedding venues don't come any better than this. Tucked away in the Cheshire countryside, this remote castle is a must if you are looking for something special and romantic. Rooms are varied, some being on the small side but then the price was competitive. A real hideaway and special place. Our three course meal was cooked to perfection. Couldn't...

Stayed here for one night with my partner the location itself is beautiful but it was spoiled by the rude staff! I was certainly not treated like a guest, I was ignored at reception and left waiting for 10minutes without the receptionist acknowledged me. I'd advise to stay away much better hotels for better price in the area. Don't choose...

Our daughter was married at Peckforton Castle recently and we cannot rate the Castle, it's staff and the magnificent food highly enough. Forget the comment "Faux Castle" this really is the place for a wedding if you want family bragging rights for years to come! We stayed here months before the wedding, had lunch and dinner on separate occasions and have...

Attending a Family Wedding. Site well sign-posted. Easy access from the A49. A fantastic place. Perched on a wooded hill, the entry drive through a Gatehouse Archway is great! Upon arriving at the main entrance, signs pointed to the Reception. My wife and I are in our late 80's, but valet parking meant we had no trekking from the Car...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
