Popped in here for the Sunday carvery. Nice staff, good service and good atmosphere. The car very was laid out with roast turkey, beef and lamb. The meats were all well done and lean, it was the veg that let it down, roast potatoes in fat, carrots swimming in butter, sprouts from the day before, overcooked red cabbage and something...

A very chastening review, which we have done our best to act upon and make sure that the elements that were unsatisfactory have been improved. Thanks for taking the trouble to let us know your thoughts,

It was just like staying with true family friends. I was looking for somewhere to stay in and around chester whilst doing some job training for around 4 weeks in total. I got told about the Crown Hotel. I had rang them up and asked if they had availability for the dates I needed. And they did. From booking. To...

Heather and Marcus are an extremely friendly couple who made us feel very welcome and ensured all of our needs were met both before and during our stay. The rooms were very clean, with excellent and comfortable beds and the breakfast was tailored to our needs and served with generous portions of tea and toast by some friendly waiting staff....

Very kind comments. Often when the hours are long and the work hard, such feedback makes it all worthwhile. Marcus & Heather put a lot of work in and this review makes great reading.

Ok, as you can reflect from my previous reviews, I offer an honest and blunt opinion. Good and bad. Firstly, the place is the stand out pub/restaurant to visit in this area. Having never been to area before, it was a true pleasure walking into a warm, comfortable and chilled environment. The owners and staff here are the true gems....

Very good, nice selection of fresh al dente veg with our roasts. Very friendly landlady and we were made to feel very welcoming. No cheese board on the menu, but when we requested it, it miraculously appeared ! The heating was on full, which made it a little too warm, in June in the conservatory. The food could have been...

We were a party of 6 friends walking the Sandstone Trail. The Hotel is very comfortable and clean. What's more after a long days walking you have in Marcus and Heather two great hosts that couldn't do enough for us. We spent the evening on the sun terrace at the back with boots off. Dinner was great. We did the...

We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights in the Crown Hotel on theSat and Sun of the last weekend May. We travelled on an early flight from Dublin and arrived long before the official check in time. When we went to the bar to let them know that we had arrived we were greeted by Luis, the owner’s son...

Very nice feedback thank you. We hope to make further changes to the rooms in due course, but as a 220 year old building we can't make the rooms as big as we'd like! Really appreciate you taking the trouble to write the review.

It was truly like staying with friends or family here! I stayed at the Crown for two weeks whilst on a course in the area, the course providers had suggested I try the Crown given its close proximity and previous feedback. From the initial phone call to check availability, to then booking and from everything Inbetween to the morning I...
