I recently took my immediate family (6 adults, 5 children) to The Lion for Sunday lunch. This was a carvery which suited us perfectly. there was a choice of 3 meats or vegetarian option plus the biggest Yorkshire puddings that you could possibly want and a fantastic choice of beautifully cooked vegetables. For me though the highlight of the meal...

Stayed at The Lion for a reunion with a group of old work colleagues with dinner in the evening choosing it as it had been recommended to me. The place is effectively a pub with rooms including a restaurant room. The welcome was good and I have to say I didn't experience the same issues with service reported elsewhere. The...

Good points. The room was ok nice clean comfortable bed Overall nice .. Bad points . Every thing else.. the evening meal was over priced . I had sausage and mash which was £11.50 for three tiny sausages and a small amount of mash . The breakfast was ok in taste but one tiny and I mean tiny sausage like half...

Enjoyed a great lunch in the relaxed atmosphere of the lion's dining room. Service was good, with the waitress giving us plenty of time to chose our meal. The food was good and the prices reasonable. Well worth a visit.

I share the comments of the previous contributor. We called in for a drink after a morning of house hunting in Waddesdon. As we were quite thirsty I was looking forward to the refreshment and a seat in the sunshine. At the bar were a group of Bicester Hockey Club players and there was a wedding party in the corner....

WMy wife & I visited Waddesdon, we usually visit the manor and have lunch at The Five Arrows. Today we wanted to visit the area and we finished up at The Lion. We had sausage and mash, which although rather salty was enjoyable. However it all fell apart thereafter because it appeared there was only one lady looking after both...

This is more a good pub with accommodation rather than an hotel. I was not staying the night but on a wet and windy day we found the bar of The Lion to be quiet, hospitable and comfortable. A quick look at the bar menu and we decided on soup of the day which happened to be french onion, but...

After a Tour of Waddesdon Manor, my wife and I stayed in Room number 1 at this hotel. While the Lion is an old pub/hotel, we felt that the standard of the room we booked did not warrant the £90 price tag. While we had a bathroom door that didn't close and very steep approaching stairs, the main problem was...

I liked this place in the pretty village of waddesdon. There is parking at the front and there is a larger car park through a 10 foot canopy. The room was nice with a good bed and a good shower but the TV was a bit small for the room.i had fish and chips on my visit but I was...

The Lion caters for wedding parties regularly, given that there are a number of local wedding venues and it is located conveniently on the A413 close to Aylesbury. We took all 10 rooms for 2 nights and they kindly organised a private buffet for us on the first night; the buffet was excellent in terms of both variety and quality....
