I had been convinced by reading the reviews that this would be a good hotel and that it stacked up well against the Meson del Marquis. By the time I got to booking, the latter was full so we stayed the first night at Maria de la Luz. Because expedia messed up our reservation, we actually ended up saying the...

We stayed at Maria de La Luz 3 different times on our Yucatan Adventure. Perfectly located right on the square, the rooms remind me of 1970 Florida but the beds were great ! There was a little fridge, and iffy wi-fi. We drove to the west coast and stopped in again. Nice clean hotel, friendly staff and a pool.

5 of us spent 3 days/ 2 nights in Valladolid visiting local attractions and enjoying Mardi Gras. We were able to book 2 rooms, one with three beds and one with two at a very reasonable rate. The rooms had ac, tv , wifi and comfortable mattresses. Check in time is noon which is a bonus. Our rooms were ready...

The Maria de la Luz, across from the main plaza in Valladolid has much going for it. Central location, clean, fairly modern rooms, and a very good restaurant and bar. Bear in mind that Valladolid is a fairly small city, not a resort destination, and you simply should not expect four-star accommodations. This is the real Mexico at its best....

Valladolid, pueblito magico, I just had lunch at this hotel on the way back from chichen itza, excelent meal, you have to try "la sopa de lima", very typical from the region. Also try "la cochinita pibill"

Our second visit to Valladolid and our second stay at Maria de la Luz. Although we particularly like the rooms on the second floor overlooking the pool, be warned this hotel was built in the early 1970s and has not been updated since. It takes a while for the hot water to run the showers, and there are few electrical...

My partner and I have stayed here before - about a year ago and were happy with the value for money. Plus it is right on the zocalo, within easy walking distance of several very good restaurants and other attractions. From the mirador, upstairs at the front of the hotel, we watched [and listened to] the thousands [tens of thousands?]...

We stayed here for just one night and wished we could have stayed one more. The city of Valladolid is quaint and delightful. Beautiful old churches with rich history, tasty restaurants and delightful people. This hotel was just a quaint and lovely. It held a very good breakfast buffet in an open area where we could get a comfortable breeze...
