I have been to Libros and Suenos on various occasions in the past four years. The hotel is centrally located on the main street, small, quaint and most definitely not an all inclusive five star resort. We purchased a home in Telchac Puerto four years ago and we drop in when we are in the community. We have stayed there... More

My husband and I are currently on a 6 month "sabbatical", after working in Iraq for the past several years, and are on a mission to "Discover the Yucatan", for a future retirement locale. Although we did not stay at the Libros y Suenos, (as we are staying in a casita in the nearby village of San Benito) We have... More

Whilst staying in a Villa in Telchac Puerto we thought we´d have a drink there and check it out for future reference. (it was the only bar open). We ordered 2 beers and was sent to a table in the courtyard. Nobody was staying there, and it was very quiet and eary. Two ladies came to sit with us (mother... More

Though the English Library was enticing and the promise of an Internet Cafe drew us in, we finally decided to leave and got our money back-- not a common decision for us. The room was so hot, without air conditioning, that we asked for a different room with two windows for cross ventilation. We were taken to a room with... More

I enjoyed the best vacation here for about a month and will return this fall. With that said I will tell you that Telchac Puerto is a very quiet town where most restaurants close at 6pm in the week, the beer stores at 8pm, but the small tiendas can provide bread, sliced meat and sodas, etc.Banks and ATMs are not... Pasquel is the manager and evn though he speaks very little english he is GREAT!! Beach is 5 min walk, Centro is only a 10 min walk. Telchac Puerto is... More

We stayed several nights at Libros y Suenos and would definitely return. The accommodations are basic, as one would expect in a small town hotel in Mexico, but that was, to us, part of its charm. Fed up with the tourist traps, with the all inclusives, with the fabulous hotels on the coasts where you'd never know whether you're in... More

Though we did not stay there...Mary was a lifesaver with local recommendations and tips. Her english bookstore and videos were also most helpful for us as we ran in to a couple of days of cool weather when a "norte" blew in. Telchac Puerto is a pretty quiet place in the winter, that is for sure

Loved this place. Lots of sites and friendly people. Small town with nice beachs, and the hotel was steps from the beach. The Hotel was handy, but could use a little help. Clean with very friendly manager. Mary realy was great ! English TV with 150 + channels was nice, and wireless internet. Small bookstore 2000+ books. We are looking forward to... More

Only US$32 a night, but would have paid double or triple for a better accommodation. It serves a purpose, but not ours. More like a ramshackle hostel, with mattress- on- springs thrift shop beds and remarkably thin, coarse "bedspreads". When my husband pulled the covers back, a gecko darted out from under his pillow. Luckily I was in the lobby... More

“Request an upstairs room. Do not go to Telchac Puerto during high season: Holy Week or mid summer because that is when the locals from Merida invade Telchac Puerto. Best time is late September through February.”
