This resort is just amazing top to bottom. It’s clean, well organized, well staffed, excellent food, and plenty of drinks ready for your days at the pool or beach. It’s hard to find a complaint about anything here at secrets Akumal. I’ve been to other secrets and they are

This was our first time at a Secret's resort and it did not disappoint! The beauty of Akumal bay is extraordinary and seemed like a hidden oasis. The resort itself is pristine, full of foliage that makes it simply gorgeous and the entire staff are so friendly. The food was

Does anyone have an email to the resort to ask a specific question?
I do not have an email but do have the hotel number. Dialing is from the USA. They will speak Spanish but once you start speaking in English, they will too. 011 52 984 875 7600

I agree with the what the others have posted here, but I wanted to add one more thing... you do get an additional breakfast restaurant option in the Seaside Grill, which is a sit-down breakfast vs. a buffet. We liked this a lot because it was a more relaxing way to start the day, and it was closer to our room. We also liked having the beach closer and the use of the Preferred Club room, which always had tasty treats throughout the day. The desk staff was also very helpful in arranging or taking care of things if our concierge was unavailable. We checked in and out of the Preferred Club, too. If money is an issue, that by all means skip the Preferred Club. The resort is fabulous and you'll have a relaxing time!

We just came back from Secrets Akumal, and it was fabulous. We didn't have a swim up, but what I liked about them compared to other properties we've stayed, is that they are very private... like people walking by can't see you - there's quite a thick landscape around the swim up suites. You do share the pool area with like 4 other rooms, but it seemed very well laid out, and semi private (from our view on the 3rd floor!) What we enjoyed the most was being able to get snorkeling gear and just walk out to the beach and go snorkeling. My husband did this a couple times a day and saw all kinds of fish, manta rays, and turtles!

I stayed at a partial ocean view, and it had a great view of the whole resort. It was located in the 4th floor building 9b. Room 9415. The morning breakfast at the Market Café is great. I did have breakfast at the Seaside restaurant as I became good friend of Jaime and I'm also a UVC member. The preferred rooms do have a better view of the ocean and more perks. No preferred pool or beach. But you will feel like a preferred guest at Secrets Akumal. The staff here is top notch.

"The room closest to the water are for "club" members."
"stay on a higher floor (there's only 5 stories per bldg) for better views of resort and ocean."
"Partial ocean view rooms are a bit of an exaggeration. We had one on the third floor and could see the water, but not much of it."
"Top floor is private and has best views!"
