Nestled in Punta Mita, the Four Seasons Resort is lauded for its pristine cleanliness and exceptional amenities such as diverse pools, a renowned spa, and fine dining. However, the value proposition has been questioned by many guests, who point to overcharging and hidden fees. While the rooms earn acclaim for comfort and space, others feel they fall short in modernity and upkeep. The resort's atmosphere strikes a balance between charmingly hip and dated elements, and while service is predominantly recognized for its professionalism, some guests have faced inconsistencies.

After considerable thought and discussion among myself, my wife and two teenage daughters, my family decided to embarked on a vacation stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita from 7/3/20 - 7/10/20. We had stayed there three times prior, however, we were naturally concerned about vacationing out of the country during the Pandemic. I have to say it was the best stay yet, no regrets at all. The staff was so professional and all the protocols for safety were what one would expect from the Four Seasons! They arranged for a SUV pick-up at the airport. All guests are checked for temperature during check in. They had a new modern dedicated phone app to make sure all communication and servicing of the room was safe. All restaurant menus were electronic and tables were at very safe distances. I was able to work out every day at their fitness facility. The staff maintained social distancing and cleaned each piece of equipment the moment I was done. We never had to leave the secured grounds of the resort, as every thing you would ever need was there. My wife and I were even able to take advantage of the multiple walking trails. When we needed something from the outside, the concierge immediately got it for us (my daughter forgot her earring cleaning solution). For a week, I had forgot what was happening in the world and was able to enjoy dedicated time with my family in a beautiful environment. Well done Four Seasons, I remain a loyal customer.

PROS: The grounds of this resort are well manicured and the ocean views especially during whale season are spectacular. We booked an ocean view room and were rewarded right from day 1 with daily views of whales coming and going, breaching, and doing tail slaps in the distance. This was why we chose this resort for this trip, so for us it paid off. Even if you donā€™t splurge on the ocean view room, the oceanfront restaurant allows a great opportunity to enjoy the whales. The beach length is not extensive but is decent for walking to get a little exercise and sometimes you might get to greet residentā€™s dogs playing. The trained hawks that fly around are a fun sight. Restaurants were good, but reservations would have been a good idea. We were told on check-in reservations werenā€™t needed because of limited hotel capacity due to covid but turned out we werenā€™t always able to get the place or time we wanted due to following this advice. I dislike having to make reservations for dinner on vacation because who really knows days in advance what they feel like eating and vaca should be carefree to go on a whim, but reality is reservations are usually needed at resorts especially when more remote, so despite the bum advice it didnā€™t impact my rating. CONS: Getting to town is expensive. Uber was impossible FROM the hotel, but a good option from puerto Vallarta Back TO the hotel if you plan to go offsite for activities. The cost of hotel driver 1-way was approx 3x that of the return trip by Uber. That said, hotel cars were nice models, clean, comfortable and had polite drivers. If you donā€™t plan to go to town a lot of times itā€™s a tolerable expense. The turtle release program should be called the seabird feeding program. As nature lovers, we considered but thankfully did not partake in this traumatic experience! We witnessed the release from a distance multiple evenings and it consisted of people throwing rocks from the beach at birds swooping in to scoop up the baby turtles as they enter the water. Not very nature friendly on any level and thus not recommended by me.

The Four Seasons at Punta Mita, is a fabulous retreat away from the Hustle and Bustle.!! It is conveniently located about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, with transportation easily arranged through the hotel.

Ms. Juana Torres, the Director, met us upon arrival ā€“ sheā€™s highly regarded among the staff ā€“ and the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful, nor capable. Ms. Torres arranged an upgrade and we had a fantastic one bedroom suite on the beach with a private plunge pool. Lauro was very helpful with our luggage, ā€“ he deserves special Kudos! Both Check in and Check out were very easy.

The breakfast is in Dos Catrinas, a Mexican themed restaurant which is delicious and the servers are great! Humberto and Marcello are exceptional servers and ambassadors for the resort. (Kudos to them as well!!) There is a sumptuous buffet with waffles, pancakes, tacos, and an omelet station in addition to a vast array of Mexican delicacies, breads, fresh fruits and cereals, meats and cheeses. The view is beautiful overlooking the ocean. Other dining options include Aramara (an Asian/Fusion themed restaurant) and our favorite ā€“ Bahia which features fresh fish and steaks. A tipā€¦. Try their signature pink snapper ā€“ its excellent! There are many activities available at the resort including several pools (one called Tamai is adults only) which are heated - and a hot tub, a very well maintained and uncrowded Gym with a vast array of cardio options in addition to Techno Gym equipment and free weights/ dumbbells, kettle bells, and ample space for stretching and ā€œdoing your own thingā€. There is also a fully equipped Spa with expected services. We particularly enjoyed floating on the Lazy River ā€“ also extremely uncrowded, especially between 10 AM to Noon.

There are options for Children ā€“ the resort is Family Friendly. Golf and Tennis are available, and arrangements can be made for snorkeling, boating, fishing, or excursions on ATV, whale watching, or swimming with the Dolphins.

In summary, this Resort features a wonderful team of people working to make certain you have a fabulous vacation experience and is located in a very unique picturesque region ā€“ Enjoy!!

We just returned from my wife's company trip. Starting from the beginning, the resort is about an hour from the airport by bus. We arrived and had to go through two security checkpoints, which made us feel safe. Check-in was easy and there are golf carts to take you to your room if it is not nearby. We routinely walked back and forth to our room. The room is spacious, has a separate area to store your suitcases and dressers for your clothes. The bathroom is large with a rain shower and separate hand held shower. There is a refrigerator stocked with beer and soft drinks, and a separate area with at least 7 different airplane size bottles of liquor, cookies, chips, etc. Wifi was strong. Pools were amazing as were the two beaches. There is also a "lazy river", which was fun to use. There are several restaurants available. We ate at the Bahia steakhouse and the asian restaurant. Both were excellent, although I cannot recommend the NY strip steak. It was difficult to cut with a sharp knife. Breakfast and lunch were in the restaurant overlooking the beach. The breakfast was my favorite as there was every type of food available. I asked our waiter, Alejandro, if he had a certain food. His response was "We have everything." Lots of seating available at the pool and sufficient wait staff to bring you food and drinks all day long. Was it expensive? Yes, stunningly so. This was our second visit to the resort (1st trip 2016) and it has not aged at all. The resort is only a 5 minute drive to town where they have a lot of additional restaurants that are less expensive. Still not cheap as dinner can set you back 1700 peso ($85) each with drinks.

Easily one of Four Seasons best properties. The experience at FS Punta Mita is up there with FS Maui and FS Bora Bora. As soon as you arrive at the resort you're a part of the family. John and his team go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are updated and are very spacious, and the resort grounds are some of the most well maintained I've ever seen at a resort.

The restaurants are all fantastic. Jose is one of the managers, but works at Dos Catrinas most days, is a food wizard. He helped us pick our dishes and drinks and did not disappoint. The next morning when we arrived at breakfast, he asked if we wanted the same salsa we had the night before. Throughout the stay the staff learned our orders and guided us to new delights.

Traveling during the COVID age was a breeze - resort is super clean, masks are worn around the common areas, and testing was done in our room for our flights home.

If you are a golfer, highly recommend hitting both courses. They are well maintained, offer incredible views, and are both a good challenge.

Lastly - big shout out to Richie at Loraine Travel/WhataHotel. If you don't have a travel agent, and need one, please reach out. He is incredible at what he does and his relationships at these resorts provide some amazing perks.

Can't wait to return some day soon!

We spent 4 nights in Puerto Vallarta at Garza Blanca, 6 nights at Punta Mita St Regis and 4 nights at the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons was by far our favorite.
The resort is absolutely gorgeous. Artwork everywhere. Beautiful landscaping. Thoughtful touches that show how much they care. Every inch well tended and immaculate.
Our room was beautifully decorated and designed with a comfortable lanai and exquisite views. The main pool is smallish for the size of the resort but because of Covid the hotel is only allowed 30% occupancy so it was fine for us. With full occupancy the pool would be too small. They have an adult only pool but itā€™s tucked away with no ocean views or beach access and to me, unappealing. The one shortcoming.
There are two long, sandy white beaches but the water was a little rough while we were there so we only went in the ocean once.
We ate at their Dos Katrinas restaurant exclusively because the food and the views were so perfect we had no desire to go elsewhere.
The gym is huge, well equipped and strictly enforcing Covid rules.
Service everywhere was perfect. The staff is amazing.
It was so beautiful and so relaxing we wished we had skipped the other two resorts and only come here.
Itā€™s expensive, very expensive but such a lovely experience.

This place is absolutely incredible. We stayed for 4 nights and couldn't have had a better experience. The staff was so helpful and made our stay feel very special (we were celebrating my birthday). Each day there were special treats in the room (super bowl cookies! fresh chips!). The personalization was just impeccable. We dined at all the restaurants on site and every meal was absolutely perfect. Prices were also surprisingly reasonable at the restaurants for food/drinks. The in room dining was also very impressive, both the presentation and the food. We rented a cabana for one day on one of the two beautiful beaches and it was such a magical experience. There are tons of activities at one of the beaches that are free (snorkeling/kayaking) which was a great surprise. The hotel transfer was also really easy and convenient. Definitely download the app, it made requests and food orders for in room dining so easy. The rooms themselves were huge and beautifully done, and the outdoor patio space made it feel even more luxurious. Traveling during covid can be scary, but the hotel felt so safe with low capacity and respectful staff/guests wearing masks. We were traveling with a small baby and felt very comfortable the whole itme. We were blown away by every aspect of our stay and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful! 5 star service! Friendly and helpful staff! Great food, gorgeous infinity pool, cool iguanas!
Everything wonderful you would expect from a Four Seasons resort. Highly recommend!
Only 2 complaints in order of importance:
In rooms with 2 beds, they need to have 2 queens instead of 2 fulls. My husband and I were squished together in a full size bed while our teenager had plenty of room in hers. For the money you pay, you should have a descent size bed when traveling with more than 2 people in a room.
Loud lawn equipment noise at the pool area for hours at a time. They need to do their lawn maintenance near the pool area at off times as not to disturb guests while they are trying to relax. This went on for literately 3 hours+ until we finally asked them to stop. They did, but then started up again off and on all day two days later.
That being said, we would definitely return!

We stayed in a villa on the Four Seasons property. The villa was very large with 5 bedrooms, so it was perfect for a large group. The service was excellent, and the property has two pools, two different beaches, and even a gelato shop on the beach.

The area of Punta Mita is a very secure property with several resorts. There's a pedestrian/bicycling path that I jogged on every morning.

All of the restaurants on the property were quite good, but our favorite was Aramara, with sushi and other Asian food. We also recommend Sufi, a restaurant still within Punta Mita's borders, so you can get a golf cart ride there.

We would also highly recommend a private boat tour of Marietas Island. We saw a huge number of whales and blue footed boobies (which you can only see there or at the Galapagos Islands), among other things.

Finally, we also recommend a day trip into Sayulita, which is a very cute, somewhat touristy town only a half hour's drive from Punta Mita. There's many friendly shops and restaurants, and we had a lovely time walking around there.

Great place for a vacation!

We had friends recommend this over the St Regis where we had first looked plus our travel agent at Byron Travel. Wisest decision ever to listen to all of them.

We just returned from a four night weekend over Presidentsā€™ Day. Incredible from the moment we arrived. Front desk team, concierge, Hugo, Fabian, Javier, everyone at the pool, lazy river and the bars were great.

The breakfast buffet is fantastic and really doesnā€™t get old after four days. The restaurant mix is great and all have a different vibe.

My son 10 and I would do game room after dinner and then watch ESPN up at the Dos Cantinas bar where they were happy to make Shirley temples and kids drinks for him and the other kids.

Strongly recommend watching the sunset at Dos Cantinas in the evening before dinner as the view is surreal and lots of whales our on the water.

Would also recommend working with concierge as we did the turtle release one night and the dolphin extreme one day . The concierge took care of everything and they are just the best.

Perfect for kids and families. We already canā€™t wait to come back and celebrate next year!

Thank you everyone from the three of us.

Definitely not all inclusive - high quality , high price food and service. Other great restaurants off property a short ride away - worth trying some as well.
