If you want an intimate learning experience in a charming home and are interested in Mexican cuisine, this is for you! Jon and Estrella were super patient teachers and very flexible. Three of us, including a 12 year old young man, spent two memorable days (minimum time for the course) learning the basics of Puebla region's Mexican culinary legacy. Procedures...

We found the cooking school through a website called Epitourean or Edible Destinations. Jon and Estella have created a beautiful oasis. The architecture and interior design has both moorish and mexican elements. The grounds are peaceful and weather was 72-75 and sunny everyday. We ate breakfast and lunch outdoors every day. Cooking classes were great fun and well organized. My...

Thanks so much for your review. It makes our day when you have a good experience. We are glad that you got what you were looking for. We are lucky that our classes are always small and it allows us to adjust to individual needs like you don't get blown away with heat. With big classes that probably would not...

I made this trip during the Day of the Dead festivities. The accommodations, classes and food were fantastic. The best Mole is the beat I have ever had. The market tour is delightful filled with fresh food. I personally love the Talavera Pottery in the region. You will probably enjoy the trip more if you are able to walk fair...

Jon and Estela have created an oasis north of Puebla, near the small city of Tlaxcala. The grounds are beautiful, Our room was very appealing decorated with beautiful local handcrafts. The cooking classes with Estela were well organized, documented, and muy rico, as they say in Mexico. You will be well taken care of here. And learn about Mexican, actually...

My Mexican traveling partner and I spent two days and three lovely evenings here with hosts Estela, a fabulously versed chef and her delightful American husband,Jon. The halfday cooking class gives one the chance to explore the delightful town of Tlaxcala just fifteen minutes away. The authenticity of the setting in true México allows one the delight of observing a...

We spent 3 nights and 4 days with Jon and Estela and were treated like warm friends learning about Mexican cooking and the local culture. The food was amazing and often unexpected in type of ingredients used to produce the rich flavors. Each day we prepared about a half dozen dishes with Jon and Estella leading the team of the...

My husband and I attended the school in last part of May. The food was very healthy and tasty. I think our favorite part of the day was having the best coffee ever outside on a beautiful patio with flowers everywhere, and fountains and birds singing. Then being served an amazing breakfast every day. Now that is my idea of...

Estela and Jon's classes were fun and the food was delicious. We cooked every morning using the freshest ingredients, made 6-8 recipes, and ate them for lunch and dinner. With the exception of a few fried items (which were delectable-rellenos, bunuelos, etc.-worth the calories) the food was very healthy and, as Estela said they would be, the flavors were complex...

I am a self-described foodie and love to cook, so whenever I travel, I try to take a cooking class or two. I ran across Mexican Home Cooking School online and was immediately intrigued, as I have never gone on a trip specifically to learn how to cook. I contacted them via their website and Jon got back to me...
