This place — and Pátzcuaro itself — cast a kind of spell on me. Charming old house filled with plants and Mexican folk art. Enrique the owner, a writer, is warm and welcoming, with many fascinating stories to tell about himself and his talented family and friends. I spent a memorable evening drinking mescal with him and his writer buddies....

We were only in this incredible, magical town for a short stay, and lucky us, chose Posada Mandala for our home! This sweet place *feels* like history. Our rooms upstairs, with their thick walls, ancient wood floors smelled delicious...like a combination of leather and moss. The view from the veranda was stunning. The hot water takes a sec to kick...

My stay at Posada Mandala was one of the the best parts about my first trip to Patzcuaro. As I had booked late (Easter week), I had quite the worst room in the hotel (ground floor shoe box with no ensuite) if not Patzcuaro and on arrival made a mental note to scout out better lodgings the next day. A...

We traveled for 3 weeks in central Mexico and this was one of my favorite places. Had one of the upstairs rooms with bath. Loved sitting out on the balcony. This place is both convenient to the main town and quiet! Left our car on the street with no problems. Had pizza one night which was good and the owner,...

This cozy 5 room hotel is beautiful, the pizzas amazing and Enrique the owner could be in the Wikipedia as an example of what a host should be. Located 1 block away of the plaza is the perfect spot to walk around and hanging at the restaurant at night introduces you to the local people. "Enjoy Patzcuaro as the locals...

Two nights I stayed in Posada Mandala. While the first night I enjoyed the calm side of the place - a beautiful patio and some good books to read - the second I stayed all night in the restaurant, talking about literature, movies and music with fine mezcal and a delicious pizza. Quality all around, it seems that Enrique adapts...

We stayed as a couple in January 2015 in a downstairs double room with direct access to the lush garden in the courtyard. This was gorgeous for sitting outside on a cool winter's evening or mid morning. The shared bathroom, for the 2 downstairs rooms, was in a distinctly separate but adjoining room. This formed a great soundproof barrier between...

Posada Mandala is located in a great location as it is right across the street from La Casas de los Once Patios. There are only 6 rooms at the posada so it has a nice intimate feeling. Enrique, the owner speaks English as well. I stayed in room 6 on the second floor which had a beautiful view from the...

I visited Patzcuaro for three weeks during September, 2014. I stayed in Posada Mandala the entire time I was there. My stay was absolutely amazing. The owner of the hotel, Enrique, was very informative and had many stories to tell about his interesting life. The hotel was cheap compared to other hotels in the area. It had all the amenities,...

We stumbled on this place after first parking near one of the squares. We checked out the two rooms upstairs overlooking the small garden courtyard. Initially we thought we might check out several places but almost immediately we decided this was the place for us. We met the owner Enrique who spoke decent English and found him absolutely charming. This...
