It was a long anticipated trip to Patzcuaro for Dia de Los Muertos and it surpassed my expectations. Once we entered the gates of Villa Victoria we felt like we were in an oasis. The gardens and rooms are beautiful. The dining room and sitting area are filled with local art and books on the area. It was a comfortable...

Behind the large wooden entrance doors, we found the Villa Victoria to be an oasis of quiet and comfort in old Patzcuaro with spacious rooms surrounding a beautifully decorated courtyard. All five suites include wood burning fireplaces, tiled bathrooms and comfortable beds. Two one-bedroom apartments in the lush garden have well supplied kitchens for longer stays. Villa Victoria breakfasts are...

We had a great stay at Villa Victoria this past September, it was a festive time in Patzcuaro. The town was celebrating its 484th year since it's founding. Of course parades and great festive costumes. Villa Victoria is conveniently located near the town plaza of Vasco De Quiroga. We also took time to explore neighboring towns and sites. Michael Austin...

We visited Patzcuaro 10 years ago and always wanted to return. This time we chose a lovely bed and breakfast called Villa Victoria. We were greeted by Samantha (the wonderful English speaking manager) and found ourselves surrounded by lush gardens where we were encouraged to pick the lemons, pears, avocados and pomegranates. The house is tastefully decorated and everything was...

My wife and I had visited Patzcuaro nearly 20 years ago for Holy Week; we just returned and what a delightful surprise to see what was a rather shabby downtown all spiffed up with tons of great shops and restaurants. The highlight and what made our recent stay so memorable was Villa Victoria, a few blocks from the central plaza,...

Patzcuaro is a gorgeous little town with so much to see in the surrounding area. Our stay there was made really special by our time at Villa Victoria and the generosity of the owner and host Michael. The Bnb is in the perfect spot for exploring and Michaels kindness in sharing information and taking us to various spots was "above...

There are just five rooms and two longer term apartments. All front onto beautiful, lish gardens. All are elegant and comfortable. Rooms 1&2 also front on the nondescript street and can be noisier. The rest is blissfully silent. Rooms are spacious, bathroom floors are heated, and there is indigenous art EVERYWHERE. The hosts are charming and attentive, full of resources,...

My wife and I stayed for a few days at Villa Victoria during October, 2015 celebrating our anniversary. Michael and Samantha greeted us as if we were old friends and we instantly felt at home. We had our choice of room because of the date. I would imagine this doesn't happen very often as this is a popular place to...

Look no further and consider yourself very fortunate if you get to stay here. Michael and Samantha are true gems, their hospitality second to none. The physical environment is like living in an environment that combines a masterfully restored centuries old villa, and local treasures carefully selected by Michael who is an award winning designer. He also arranged a wonderful...

When we were first considering a trip to Patzcuaro, we went to TripAdvisor’s Patzcuaro page and immediately saw the bright red banner: TRAVEL ALERT: SAFETY AND SECURITY, and then we read the State Department warning about travel to Michoacan. We worried about safety in the area, but we learned from friends in Mexico City with second homes in Patzcuaro that...
