We spent a few days here for some skiing and hiking. The location is near the main street so not protected from traffic noise, but that was somewhat ok. One can hear the cars passing by. however. The online photos seem a bit more inviting than the actual place. While everything was clean, the equipment in the condos is pretty old and several things did not function, e.g. there were problems with the stove, with opening the window, the toilet had a problem and several plucks did not work. Some items from the kitchen were missing so we had to buy new items to be able to cook what we wanted to cook. We also were under the impression that every cottage had their own jacuzzi, but that was just our mistake not having looked right online. The most disappointing aspect for us was that the condos at least are in a house that is not built with a lot of insulation. So, one hears all the music, the steps, the bathroom use and all noises from other apartments in the same condo. For those with a light sleep, get ready to be woken up with the first person awake. With every step on top of us, the doors in our apartment made a squeaky noise. If noise does not bother you, this might be just fone. But for us the vacation was not as rejuvinating as it should have been. The fact that the condo takes pets is of course a big advantage for animal lovers as us,

This is hands down my favourite place to stay in The Eastern Townships. We've been coming here for many years and find this to be the most comfortable and convenient place around. We find the suites to be a good size and well appointed, with cozy furniture and all you need in the kitchen to make complete meals. Internet is fast, there is a good selection of channels on the tv, and the fireplace is icing on the cake. Last year, arriving just as the province went into shutdown was a huge disappointment, but Pierre the owner, was very understanding and accommodating deferring our deposit until next year. While Covid hasn't gone away yet, the staff at Le Montagnard is doing a fantastic job of keeping things clean and safe for their guests. They even ordered up 20+cm of fresh powder in the middle of March for our skiing pleasure! Thanks Pierre, I'm planning next year's trip already!

Quebec ski hills closed early and very suddenly due to the Covid-19. Therefore we had to cancel our March Break family ski vacation and stay at le Montagnard. Pierre was a very understanding owner during a difficult time and is looking forward to hosting our family next winter. Our family is looking forward to a return stay at le Montagnard next winter. Great owner!

I stayed there for an overnight on Sunday night with my sister and it was great. The room was spacious and with double beds. Very clean and great location. Close to the Sutton ski resort that we visited and also a great voucher given to us for a visit to a local winery. Merci Gilbert.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were a group of 4 couples. We shared the two condos. Very clean with lots of room. Very close to the hill and easy to get to. Front desk staff were very helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay here again!

Room was advertised to sleep 8 and we had 7 adults. I think 6 would have been fairly comfortable for adults. With younger kids you could sleep 8. Kitchen was great and we ate most of our meals in the condo and packed lunch for the slopes. A little light on larger pots so if you're cooking spaghetti bring a large pot with you. The wood burning stove was a real treat -- got so warm that we had to open the door a bit at bed time to cool things down for sleeping. The real gem was the huge common room which happened to be directly above our room. Great pool table and another wood burning store. We had the place to ourselves on Sat/Sun of President's day weekend. Since it was only a 30 second walk from our ground floor room, we used the two sets of rest rooms upstairs when our single bathroom in the room was in high demand. A 5 minute drive to the main lodge at Sutton. We would definitely go back, especially if they get the hot tub working (it was out of service when we were there). Our room was down a path (slippery) that was not a problem for skiers but not something an elderly or handicap person could navigate.

Location to Mont Sutton - within 1km, convenient and there is also a shuttle service three times in the morning for guests Pet friendly nice trail in back of hotel/chalets to walk with dog along a river (slope to get down too, so the need of gripped shoes/boots) is suggested Chalet for six equipped with that same amount of plates and utensils so if you need more, suggestion to bring your own if you plan on staying a few nights. Pull out couch not comfortable so I wouldn’t suggest counting it in as a place to sleep. Double beds in rooms No daily room service so plan on asking front desk for extra towels, toilet paper, etc,, if you run out - a point that Managment should improve on as guests should not be the ones to ask for fresh towels, etc.. if they stay more than atleast three nights for the amount they pay for a night stay. Front desk greeting pleasant

My wife and I have stayed at Le Montagnard 3 times over 5 years and twice with our dog. Each time we stayed has been an awesome experience. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, even when we drove all night from Ontario, speak very basic francais and showed up way before our check in time once. The allowed us to sleep On the common room couches while I our dog hung out with the staff members dog. They had a room ready for us well before they were supposed to and we really appreciated it. We stayed in the studio suite each time, which is not an overly large space but provides everything that we needed and was more than enough to keep us happy for our 4 night trips. We cooked all of our meals with the oven, microwave and our slow cooker, which made staying there even more cost effective. The room was clean and bed was well kept and easy to sleep on. The hot tub was hard to get a spot in at times but staying mid week afforded us some nice hot tub sessions after being on the slopes. If the hot tub is full the bathtubs are a decent size, and we're also relaxing. Le montagnard is less than 5 minutes from Sutton and is less than an hours drive from 4-5 resorts in Quebec and Vermont. My wife and I would highly recommend le montagnard to anyone with a pet, simple tastes and a love for the out doors. We definitely plan on staying there again.
