We stayed one evening in the Crow's Nest which had a lovely view - too bad it was rainy and chilly. The staff were very friendly. The food was a bit too much to enjoy but we quite enjoyed it. Chef and the staff were very enjoyable, open to questions and sharing in the fun. The grounds were relaxing and...

Cobey and the team of chefs and waitstaff at The Inn at Fortune Bay were fabulous. I attended the restaurant with a large group. I have very restrictive food allergies and they catered so well for me. The food was delicious, the setting was sublime and the service – excellent!

Back to basics food all presented by Chef Michael Smith and his very friendly staff. We were treated like one of the family with their presentation of appetizers outside, oysters shucked by the Chef, then on to a 5 course dinner. The best dinning experience ever. Would recommend this experience to everyone who comes to PEI.

The Inn at Bay Fortune is both a destination hotel and destination restaurant. The destination hotel part held up well but the destination restaurant was lacking, at least to our taste on this visit. The Inn is known for its chef, Michael Smith, and for its' "Feast", a Michael Smith showcase. In looking at Michael Smith's cookbook we seemed to...

We came back again this year just for the feast and a visit to the Inn at Bay Fortune. The property is very nice and the staff are excellent. If you visit, you have to have the feast or why else would you be here!!! We had another excellent meal with lots of oysters, pork belly, blue fin tuna ,...

An overnight here was the highlight of our PEI trip. The room was luxurious and comfortable. We ate at Firework and enjoyed the whole experience immensely. The best part was wandering the farm, the beautiful gardens and even meeting the happy pigs out back. Staff were kind, knowledgable and happy without exception. We were warned to be careful about overspending...

August 7, 2016: overnight stay with dinner. We booked the "Crow's Nest" almost a year before our visit which included a succulent breakfast. The room was exactly as advertised, in fact even better due to renovations over the winter. The vegetable and flower gardens and grounds reflect the respect and commitment to natural foods. The Oyster hour and the Feast...

We were very excited to the idea of dinning at Firework. Indeed the environment was amazing. The different stations offering finger food was great. Once we got to our seating I was a bit suprised on how many people they are seating at the table. I think it would be reasonable that you are confortably seated in order to enjoy...

Michael Smith and his wife are delightful and charming hosts. We stayed in a nice room with a very comfortable bed with luxe sheets. The room and inn had a wonderful spa like fragrance. Very restful. The food was underwhelming, but everything else was very nice. All around a good experience. A nice getaway for a day or two.

I booked this dinner months before we went and looked so forward to it!. The staff at The Inn at Bay Fortune did not disappoint! They were welcoming, friendly and willing to explain all the dishes. I even received a mini oyster shucking lesson. The evening starts with special drinks(which are an extra cost) and a roam around the grounds...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in 1913 as the summer home of Broadway playwright Elmer Harris (His most notable work being Johnny Belinda), Fortune, Prince Edward Island was the summer residence of many New York City Broadway and silent screen types that fled the Big Apple to beat the heat. Many parties took place here with conversations and frolicking going on late into the night. As years passed, our property had another famous owner- actress Colleen Dewhurst, her husband, hollywood actor George C. Scott and their children lived here during the summer and shared their hilltop wonder with famous friends including Elizabeth Taylor. In 1989 the Wilmer family transformed the property into a country inn. 1991 marked the arrival of Chef Michael Smith and by 1998 the Inn had grown in popularity so much that a new kitchen, dining room and guest wing were added. April of 2015 marked the return of Chef Michael and his wife Chastity with the launch of their innovative new dining concept, FireWorks. In May 2016, The Inn at Bay Fortune received its 5th star with guest room that feature luxurious amenities balanced with cozy seaside charm. ... more   less
