Stayed here October 4th. The place is fancy shmancy. I don't usually go for 5 star accommodations because they break the bank. My girlfriend really wanted to go here and eat Smith's food so we splurged. First you start with a 5 station pre dinner snack menu. Sausages served near the farm, oyster bar inside (at the bar), smoked salmon...

We had a great room with a view in the tower. The best was the Fireworks dinner. It was fantastic and the cook, Michael Smith, is a celebrity in Canada. We sat at farm tables and met many interesting people. A must if visiting PEI!

I would actually like to rate this a 3 1/2. We visited in late September. The Inn sits on knoll across the road from the Bay. Beautiful setting and an impressive property with an interesting history. We were in South Tower 1. It is a sizeable room with a queen bed at one end and a comfortable sitting area surrounding...

We came across this charming Inn by chance while touring around the island late in September. We were met in the lobby by Chastity, one of the owners, who invited us to walk around and visit the herb garden, the "farm", and the dining area. Although we already had other accommodations elsewhere we were so taken by the quaintness of...

Once again our stay was fabulous. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and the room we stayed in was beautiful. We were here last year for a belated honeymoon and this year for our second anniversary we couldn't think of anywhere else we wanted to celebrate. Also a highlight for me was finally trying a gin and...

Liked the Inn very much - accommodations were attractive but wished there were an area where one could purchase and relax with a glass of wine after (or before) dinner. Their Feast was ample, perfectly good but a bit over-rated for its price. The oysters however were fantastic! Would we return? Yes but hope a little tweaking will be done.

We stayed here for one night and truly appreciated the attention to detail that has been accomplished by the owners during the renovation process that occurred in 2015. The rooms are beautiful. However, the price reflects that. At breakfast, they pass each couple a note and ask that you provide a tip based on the $30 value of each breakfast...

This review is strictly for the FireWorks nightly feast offered at Inn at Bay Fortune. First of all, tickets can be hard to get, as the dinner can be booked up months in advance. It was suggested to call the Inn the day of when you'd like to attend, as like many restaurants, cancellations are a possibility. We arrived a...

We stopped in for 1 night... we now wish we'd have booked 2!! Check in was amazing -- we were walked all the way to our room (North tower 2) Wine glasses and ice brought up as well! The room --- WOW! view was amazing! It felt like were were in a beach / cottage... something my husband and I...

My wife and I stayed here for one night and enjoyed the amazing feast. Our room was absolutely beautiful. Very comfortable bed. Had a wood-burning fireplace all set to go. Linens and towels were comfortable and this place is a really nice place to stay.

Thank Roger G

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in 1913 as the summer home of Broadway playwright Elmer Harris (His most notable work being Johnny Belinda), Fortune, Prince Edward Island was the summer residence of many New York City Broadway and silent screen types that fled the Big Apple to beat the heat. Many parties took place here with conversations and frolicking going on late into the night. As years passed, our property had another famous owner- actress Colleen Dewhurst, her husband, hollywood actor George C. Scott and their children lived here during the summer and shared their hilltop wonder with famous friends including Elizabeth Taylor. In 1989 the Wilmer family transformed the property into a country inn. 1991 marked the arrival of Chef Michael Smith and by 1998 the Inn had grown in popularity so much that a new kitchen, dining room and guest wing were added. April of 2015 marked the return of Chef Michael and his wife Chastity with the launch of their innovative new dining concept, FireWorks. In May 2016, The Inn at Bay Fortune received its 5th star with guest room that feature luxurious amenities balanced with cozy seaside charm. ... more   less
