Stayed at Milton Heights Campground for thé month of April as we had just sold our home. The campground location is fabulous and close to many amenities. We found pricing to be reasonable given its location. The campground is very well kept and clean. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The water at the time of our stay was not potable but we had free bottled water available in large quantities. We used the campground water to shower and clean and the bottled water for cooking and drinking. Owners where very friendly and we had a few long chats and shared humor. The campground is very tightly run and we did appreciate that as it made our stay very comfortable. The 401 is very close and can get loud but a good set of earplugs solved that and that issue is certainly outweighed buy it’s location. As for the negative reviews that we saw online we certainly did not experience any of such negativity in our monts stay Thank you Milton Heights and we will see in the fall when we get back from our maritime adventure Rita and Gilbrt…
The park is nice and clean. A bit of road noise from the highway. The owner/manager runs the park a bit too severely. Many people I talked to compared him to a nazi. If you park your vehicle with a wheel just slightly on the grass he will come and ask you to move it. I found the price a little on the high side.
Stayed here all summer due to covid 19 and staying the winter as well. Grounds are very well taken care of. Washroom are very clean. Decent Wifi. Only possible complaint would be highway noise from being close to 401. I would highly recommend this park.
We are full-time r'vers who usually travel south for the winter but due to COVID and border closure, we are unable to go south. I contacted Milton Heights as to availability for this winter and was advised they have a year restriction, which I cannot find anywhere on their website. We do have an older unit which is in very good condition. During a pandemic, even if they have a restriction for seasonal sites, they could have made an exception for this winter.
We booked 2 nights. Got there and could barely hear each other talk as the campground is located right beside the 401 Highway! Fire must be out at midnight (if your sitting there quietly why must you put out your fire)?!!? I went to the office the next morning to let them know we were leaving because of the noise and wanted one night refunded. Was told no refunds! It’s an expensive place to camp as well so we were out $90 in August 2020.
Unstable owner, an angry and confrontational guy named Andy who is completely obsessed with his grass. Obsessed to the point he will bang on your door to scream at you if there are what he decides are grass violations. He behaved like a tyrant our entire stay. He changed the rules often in his own head but didn’t post them. He makes up things on the spot, so you're left in the uncomfortable state of never knowing if you might break some random rule he just dreamed up. Everyday life appears to irritate this man. He drives around in his truck looking for 'violations' and yelling at guests. I overheard him threatening to kick out a couple because they had "too many decorations" on their RV for his taste He ruined our camping experience & our neighbors’ with constant badgering. The short list of harassments: there are too many things on your picnic table, put them away (??), I don't want camp mats, it ruins my grass, your tire was on the grass yesterday, you'll ruin my grass, I don't like those patio lights, take them down, I don't want bins under the trailer put them somewhere else, you talk too loud, get your cooler off my grass, you have too many beach toys on my grass, it looks messy, you have too many camp chairs, I don't want more than two chairs on the site (we were 4 ppl), don't hang your towels on the table, it looks messy. If you like mental chaos and constant surveillance, this is the loony tunes place for you. Avoid if you want a peaceful and respectful experience.…
Worst campground ever the owner will pounds on your door to whine about one tire on your grass after they book a lot too small for your trailer 2 thumbs down what a dirty place Thinking about calling the police to deal with all the harrassment I can't Express enough my regret for ever coming to this harrassing park
We stayed one night at this campground and were more than happy to check out. They are located right beside the 401 so the traffic noise is constant. Worse than this though were the 3 big open sewage pits right on the property. The smell emanating from these pits made our eyes water because it was so strong. Some people were actually camped right beside them. How could they tolerate the stench! I have no idea how that is even allowed to happen. The owner is really grumpy and all requests are met with the word NO. He is not personable in the least and makes you feel like a nuisance instead of a paying customer.
Didn't even have a chance to stay there. We were scheduled to arrive midway through October but had to cancel due to family problems. Call to get my $300. deposit back and were told we are not getting it back. Was told they don't give back deposits even though they don't tell you that. Nothing on my receipt say it is non refundable and nothing on the site says that. Seems they are not so people friendly after all.
Today I called Milton Heights Campground, the grandfathers granddaughter was talking to me so poorly very rude to me on the phone, I had my trailer at there property ever since June 3rd, 2017, I do make payments every each month, at times I have been late for making my storage payments. But they do get there money, but she didn’t had to be so rude so rude and ignorant to me on the phone, I felt nervous and scared on the phone because how she was talking to me, this year has been problems after problems, this wasn’t a good year for me and my family very hard bad year that we had to struggle , and having problems with our lives. And I lost my father What we’re going through very tough times. She was nice to me at first when I met her and grandfather at first when I brought my trailer for storage since going back June 3rd,2017, and now today she was rude ignorant And treated me so badly taking to me on the phone, I did camped at there property last year summer 2018, but this year didn’t go camping, going camping at there property Was okay I guess it could be better, what I didn’t liked about using there property Going camping it was the highway noises And to close the highway and not far from the city. It’s not real camping and no private see yeah it’s clean, but it does has other issues it’s private owned family property, not enough trees, better off going to provincial Park‘s. They don’t want to do business with me anymore granddaughter told me today to move my trailer. I told her I just mailed out money order, she told me no more money orders, to bad this business doesn’t except debit bank Visa , said to me only major credit cards. What if some people don’t have major credit cards. I told her that, and she told me No we don’t except debit visa only major credit cards I said her I don’t have major credit cards.. I’m so up set the she talked to me on the phone. She got me upset for customers you don’t go talk to your customers that way, it sounds like that she had a bad day, and taken out off me she shouldn’t do go talk to me that way and take it out of me. Or anyone that’s not how you do business too the way you talked to me. My reviews is the truth how I felt and the way I was treated. Over the phone. I’m not Lying my reviews is the truth. The way she treated me.…
