Detailed Reviews
I loved my stay at Riverview Cottages. The cottages were clean, well maintained, and stocked with all the amenities needed to enjoy your stay. The location was in a peaceful setting, but close enough to explore other sites in Parrsboro and surrounding area. There were a couple of different fire pits to lounge at in the evening, and some outdoor activities to pass the time. The owners were very thoughtful - placing table cloths on the picnic table for our gathering! They also seem to have put thought into the different areas that people use from comfortable chairs on the porches of cottages, fire wood for the wood stoves, and even the different fire pit areas available. I am looking forward to visiting again!

What a wonderful gem this is! The cottages are completely charming, and very well appointed; inclusive of all the little things you never remember to bring. Which of course is the result of fabulous owners that are fully engaged and gracious, providing everything from games and grills to directions and suggestions for local attractions. Our family gathering could not have been better, or at a better location. An additional bonus of particular note is the best night's sleep.. deep and uninterrupted.

My father, brother, and I just had an amazing weekend in two of these beautiful, rustic, cottages. The physical environment alone is enough to transport travellers to a refreshing vacation that is both relaxed and sufficiently equipped for comfort. The number of cottages (some spacious and some small with a redeemingly cuteness) helps to ensure availability and provides a village-like walkabout. You can chose to use the outdoor communal furniture and fire pit to socialize with neighbouring travellers while the young'ns use the playground, or you can borrow a portable bbq and hang out on your patio with a good book.
Beyond it's physical beauty, the new owners Wendy and Jay, and their staff, fill this space with an accommodating and welcoming energy. I felt immediately welcome and continued to be surprised by their generous dedication to making sure my family had the most comfortable stay possible.
Riverview cottages is close to many amenities and is a 15 minute walk to "downtown Parrsboro". I have stayed in these cottages on many occasions and it is a sure good time. Even though the river (which is actually an aboiteau) now runs low, this place is rushing with welcoming feelings and relaxing vibes.

Around 4.00 a.m. the roof leaked during a thunderstorm at night onto the bed and into the bathroom. Before supper this evening before, I asked the owner to oil the door hinges. When I returned from supper, this had not been done! I was only partially refunded and left immediately, with no apology from these new owners for 6 years. In addition, the paintings were faded and all the roofs need to be redone. Site not recommended! The photos in no way reflect the actual appearance.

Booked accommodation for a team retreat for 12 people. Everyone raved at the cozy cottage they were assigned, each one different with different styles, art, and all the comforts of home. The cottages were a perfect place to relax with absolutely everything you need including a great space to sit outdoors with a fire and soak in the stars. The only shortcoming was that our stay wasn't nearly long enough - keen to return and see even more of the attractions (hikes, antiquing, restaurants, theatre) that are minutes away from the cottages - a great getaway.

These are very clean rustic cottages with all the amenities that you will need. It is a very peaceful location next to a river. It is just minutes to downtown and an easy place to explore the area from. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. I have stayed here with family and also on my own and have enjoyed it all. I will certainly be back.

First and last visit! Cottages are in serious need of repair! Our cottage door didn’t close and lock, window curtains were ripped apart and torn, there were bugs in our mini fridge, mattress was very uncomfortable as you could feel the springs coming through it, no garbage bags supplied only a small bathroom garbage pail in cottage, picnic tables falling apart, and there was NO HOT WATER AT ALL!! At $130/night I expect better! When I mentioned the lack of hot water, I received just an “oh, I’m so sorry about that!” Will not stay there again!!

The prices are right and they are a little rustic but good location for exploring and inexpensive. You are close to everything and so it makes up for the lack of amenities.
The river is out back and you can have bonfires here so good for kids as well.

We stayed here one night while en-route to Cape Breton. The cottage was basic, but had everything we needed. The owners were hospitable and the location was convenient (near town and on a stream). My only complaint would be that the beds were very old fashioned (read: loud springs). However, for under $100/nite we thought it was great. It was super clean and we would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riverview Cottages last September! The Hunts made us feel so comfortable & gave us information on local sites & restaurants. Their 2 very friendly dogs were so sweet! The property is beautiful! Richard & Sandra Hunt are doing a fantastic job in keeping the rustic cabins cozy, comfortable & clean! Just loved our experience & looking forward to returning again this year!
