Stayed in Tory room on top (3rd) floor. Although no elevator, not a problem because climbing the stairs to such a grand pastoral view with perfect linens on comfy beds made it worth it. Staff is more than accomodating and do double duty by assisting in the kitchen or serving meals. Bonnie's outgoing personality with just the right touch of...

This Bed & breakfast in a remote lovely setting with friendly service was a great experience on the Eastshore. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The Breakfast was wonderful. But Dinner was our highlight: A very good meal with attentive service in a wonderful setting.

During our stay at DesBarres Manor Inn, it seems we've had a different experience than other reviewers. The Inn could use an exterior face-lift. The chipping paint and the worn and ripped outdoor carpet on the front stairs certainly did not provide a positive first impression. Nor did the greeting we received from the staff. The woman who greeted us...

The Inn is near a lovely shore trail with historical markers so we had a great walk before settling in for a delightful dinner and a quiet, cool night's sleep. The room was not as luxurious as during our previous visit, but had a lovely view of the valley. Breakfast was wonderful.

My husband and I had a very long day of driving and were so pleasantly surprised by this luxurious hotel seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Our room was large and beautiful. We were late enough to not make dinner but enjoyed a cocktail in the spacious and well-appointed bar/drawing room. The massive porch was so relaxing. Breakfast was a...

For Christmas I had no idea what to buy my husband then I thought something food related would be great..we love a good meal and well as cooking. I googled cooking classes and DesBarres appeared. I booked the cooking class getaway and we were not disappointed. We helped cook mussels and desert when first arriving. After enjoying our mussels we...

We rode into Guysborough after dark, having covered 114 km from Cape Breton Island with just one break. We were tired, cold, and worried about finding any accommodation at all. It took an act of faith to follow our GPS, because Highway 16 takes a pair of right turns, then a left out of town after it becomes Church Street,...

We stayed at the end of September. It i s located in a remote town but worth the trip! The antiques in the rooms are very elegant . It was a warm evening and we had drinks on the covered porch before dinner. The chef was very talented and made us a dinner that was delicious and the presentation was...

My partner and I booked the Romantic Getaway Package, and we were not disappointed. This beautiful old building is in a lovely quiet setting in a small seaside town. The building itself is gorgeous inside and out, and the grounds are beautifully maintained, truly a romantic spot. As promised, we had cheese, fruit, and Champagne waiting for us in the...
