A small group of us stayed one night here. Everyone was so warm and gracious that I felt as if I was visiting my favorite relatives. I shared a small homey suite that was very clean and comfortable with quilts on the beds and fully furnished kitchen. Good hiking trails nearby and the owner's dogs will gladly join you. Breakfast... What a great place. If you ever wanted to stay somewhere that you feel like home but do not have to do anything but enjoy yourself this is the place for you. The smell of home made bread to the pizza you can not describe. What a great time.

My wife and I stayed two night in a large king bed room on the second floor. Room was clean, comfortable, decorated well with a large bathroom. The proprietor Dave really cares for his guests and has great suggestions about what to see and do in the area, and keeps an updated listing of local entertainment. There is a large... More

There were 5 of us, we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with pullout. Room was very nice and comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great, hand made cinnamon buns and bread! We were visiting from Ontario, just on cape breton for the night, and will definitely come back and stay here the next time we come. Thank you to everyone... More

We stayed at the Mabou River Inn on our way to the Cabot Trail. It is a wonderful change from the cookie cutter hotel rooms that we had been staying in. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds are comfortable. The owner provides a wonderful breakfast with fresh baked cinnamon rolls. It's a short walk to town and the... More

Nice room, nice people, nice area....what more can you ask for. The room had all the stuff you needed...the four wheeler at times was a little concerning but did not last long. It is just a place that people are enjoying. I love having the fresh air come in the room. The breakfast was good and the cinnamon rolls the... More

Stayed here our final night in Cape Breton! Staff was very friendly, room was clean with comfy bed. The room was very quiet, this motel was more like a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was included and there was fresh fruit, homemade biscuits and cinnamon buns! It was excellent!
