Great hotel.Stayed in the newer section not the old historical mansion. It was a little "motelish" but the rooms were very large and clean. Great ocean views from both floors. Loved the restaurant in the main building, pricey but worth it! Nice spa and great hiking right on

I too had similar experiences to those reviews below - expensive hotel but budget style rooms. There were several other accommodations we could have chosen for about half the cost of the Keltic, but we thought that the extra we paid would be for an outstanding stay, but it

This is a beautiful "grande dame" property of historic note in one of the most astoundingly beautiful areas on earth, but the room we were given in the "Inn" was sorely reminiscent of a Motel 8 off some stretch of freeway in anytown. The room itself offered a beautiful view, but

We were attending a class reunion for my husband, and had done quite a sell job on the place because my teenagers did not want to go. The scenery and the curb appeal of Keltic is amazing, but they fall short in other areas. We apparently had a special rate of 230 per night,

This place is NOT worth the money. If you take the 'Lodge' out of 'Keltic Lodge' and place it after the word 'Travel' you will be better prepared for what to expect. Our room cost $503 per night, including breakfast and evening meal and a whale watch tour (which was $50). So

Pool is heated. Hot tub and spa can be used without using a treatment but hot tub is small, 4 seat and only up to 92 degrees. So disappointing. The sauna and steam showers in the spa are free and lovely. Indoor spa tub d and dirty looking so did not use. Tried to get nails done but booked solid so suggest if you wish to use you book early.

Do you have shuttle service from nearest airport?
I think the nearest airport is Sydney and I'm pretty sure it will be more than an hours drive. Since Keltic Lodge, and the Cabot Trail itself, is very rural, you would probably be better off renting a vehicle at the airport and driving to the Lodge. It is a very easy drive and that way you would be able to see more of Cape Breton Island which you must see if you are planning to stay at the lodge. If you would like any further information, please feel free to ask as we just returned from Nova Scotia 2 weeks ago.
