A newly renovated and under new ownership Motel and Inn combination located in the middle of an Acadian fishing village on the world famous Cabot Trail. As the Cabot Trail offers unexpected pleasures the Silver Lining Inn and Motel does as well. Hiding in the late 19th century house is a fully renovated Inn with a full kitchen, dining area and a welcoming reception. The Inn features one large suite with a King size bed and full ensuite. Renovations, due to start in the fall of 2018, will enable us to offer more comfortable suites on the Inn's second floor as well. The motel rooms conveniently located behind the Inn have all been newly renovated adding new air conditioning and heat systems. The rooms have new beds, furniture, linens and TVs and also include a fridge and private bath. Irons, ironing boards, hair dryers and games are available at the front desk as well as ice and beverages. We also have free WiFi although we do encourage our guests to unplug and enjoy the experience. :)

we were two of 7 ebikers who stayed here and at a neighboring property. Very nice renovated old house. Gal who checked us in was very pleasant and efficient despite having a broken connection with their credit card reader. We stayed upstairs. Friend stayed downstairs with a little dedicated deck of their own. Our room was small but very clean and decently decorated. Had a new bathroom with shower insert that was very good. Good functional air conditioner. Plenty of hot water. View of the bay. Very comfortable bed. A little scant on outlets, just an FYI for felow ebikers, as we had a ton of stuff to charge - rear view camera, bike batteries, headlamps, headlights, etc etc. ah, progress. Good recommendations for places to eat. Breakfast included, which I didn't partake of, except for a bagel and cream cheese. Only "negative" was that there was a tip envelope in the room for housekeeping; we ALWAYS leave a tip but for some reason our nova scotia trip (this was our second in two weeks) we forgot to get cash and just used our cards. I asked the guy at the desk when we left if we could get $5 cash from my debit card for housekeeping and he said there was no way he could do that. Not sure I believe that, and as a result the housekeeper didn't get a tip. Our bad. Cheticamp is not a metropolis, but being coastal it is a "long" town but everything we needed was in walking distance.

We can't say enough good about this place, which was the highlight on our 2 weeks in Nova Scotia (and the best of the 6 places we stayed during our 2 weeks in Nova Scotia). Raymond and Gracie Mae were welcoming and full of information about restaurants, town history, shopping, and Cape Breton. Months before, Louise had taken extra care in managing our reservation to ensure we got the room we wanted for our entire stay -- and she makes the best muffins we've ever tasted. Our room was spacious and utterly clean with comfy mattresses and pillows; the grounds and building are immaculate. The Inn is in easy walking distance of several decent restaurants, pharmacy, a general store, and the boardwalk. It's a short drive to the laundromat, other restaurants, Tres Pignons, and the Park. We were sad to leave the Silver Lining family and Cheticamp, and would have stayed longer than our 4 nights had we been able. One last word: Cheticamp struck us as a bit anticlimactic when we arrived. By the time we left, we were in love with the town, its location, and its people. The Silver Lining Inn is the Jewel in the Cheticamp Crown.

We were shown a picture of the room with 2double beds, a large room. When we checked in there was 1 queen bed in a very small room with handmade rugged table ( it was about 12 inches by 12 inches with 2 rigged stools. Two people could not sit down and eat! That’s for sure. The TV could not use Netflix or any stations. Very disappointed for 140.00! Roxanne Muir

Stayed on our tour around the Cabot Trail. Well situated in the middle of town. Easy distance to local amenities such as restaurants. We occupied 2 rooms in the house. Great views of the ocean. Extremely clean and furnishings were lovely, new and fit well with the theme of the inn. Continental breakfast was sufficient when on the road: cereals, oatmeal yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, toast etc. Juice tea and coffee etc. The couple who own and manage the inn are super friendly and welcoming. A nice stop along our way.

A lovely b and b! My room was spotless, spacious and had a nice view of the harbour across the street. Loved that the TV in the room had Netflix. The window air conditioner was a welcome relief on a very hot night. Breakfast was self-serve with a good selection of cereals, breads, etc. Gracie-Mae was at the reception desk. She’s the granddaughter of the owners and quite young (high school age). While she was as sweet and as helpful as she could be, she’s not the resource I was expecting to be when it came to recommendations for restaurants, etc in the area.

A great place to spend a night or two. Warm, comfortable rooms. Pleasant and helpful staff. A great variety for breakfast while being served personally by the owner and his family. Our pet was welcomed. We'll stay again!

The title says it all! The staff were very kind and gave us a call when we were running behind check-in time. There are lock-boxes to retrieve keys for late arrivals. We stayed in the motel. New, clean matresses. Beautiful hardwood floors. Everything was spotless, minimalist, but very comfortable.

The place is immaculate in new. The hosts are like staying with family and so kind and friendly. They were wonderful and accommodating and the type of people that are in the right business. The free breakfast was amazing and just what we needed to continue on our adventure. The owners are gems. Rooms are new and spotless and beautifully decorated. Wonderful people in a wonderful place, sitting at the gates to the world famous Cabot Trail.

What a wonderful time we had at Silver Lining Inn! Raymond and Louise made sure that we had everything we could possibly want or need. They even lent us their fishing poles so that we could do a little fishing one day. Lovely rooms and great views. We really enjoyed watching the fishing boats go in and out of the marina. Loved the hiking and we’re lucky enough to see a bear and then moose later in the evening. Next time we are back in Cheticamp- we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Inn. Not at all what I had hoped for, but the place was decent and after a long day of hiking it was only a place of shower and rest. I don’t think I’d go back, but I’m pretty picky when it comes to accommodations so take my review with a grain of salt.
