The room was tiny but the bathroom was really big and very nice. Everything in the room looked extremely clean and new and the bathtub was excellent. Since the room was small the bed was in a diagonal of the room which made the access to the closet not to easy. Breakfast was excellent, with very good blueberry pancakes and...

By your description, you stayed with us in room 1, which is our smallest and least expensive room. Unfortunately when guests book through a third party such as Booking.com or Priceline they do not have the benefit of speaking directly with the owners to discuss their personal requirements. We are more than happy to do that when people contact us...

Going to Cape Breton? Lucky you, it's wonderful. If you haven't been to Baddeck, go there: and if you go there, stay with Jan and Glen (and Casey! and the humming birds!). Delightful house, full of interest and character. We had an upstairs room with a private but separate bathroom across the corridor - a perfectly good arrangement. The room...

What a gracious review, thank you so much. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you will be able to come back and visit with us sometime in the future. We really enjoy sharing the house and our knowledge with our guests, especially letting people know about the music of the area. We're very...

Travelling with another couple, we stayed in two upstairs rooms at Auld and had a very good experience overall. The house is easily accessible and clean, the rooms are functional and the hosts are wonderful! Two minor deficiencies are that the B&B is a bit farther from Baddeck than we anticipated and the breakfast is very basic and a bit...

Thank you for your kind review. We hope that the quiet surroundings, the bird-life and views of the countryside compensated somewhat for the 4 mile distance from town. We would be interested to have more information from you with regard to your 'uninspired' comment about our breakfast menu, as we are constantly looking to improve the selection that we offer...

The title of the review says it all, really. Very open and friendly hosts, reserved when needed, present when wanted. This beautiful old farmhouse is the perfect place to stay if you want charm and comfort, lovely cosy rooms, balanced breakfast with fresh high quality products and the knowledge that the hosts offer about the Cape Breton area and its...

So many people underestimate how much time it takes to fully explore this beautiful island. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will be able to return to explore the rest of the island at some point. We are so pleased that we were able to offer you a true B&B experience.

Our room was very cosy and comfortable with a lovely view. Nicely equipped bathroom with good quality products. Breakfast was unusual but tasty and adequate. The owners were knowledgable of the area and very helpful and friendly. We would certainly stay there again and spend longer in the area.

We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you would like to come back for a longer stay next time. There certainly are a lot of places to explore and things to do for a return visit. We are intrigued by your description of our breakfast, so we would love to chat with you for an...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re delighted that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. Breakfast is something that we feel is very important to our guests and we try to cater to a variety of tastes, offering fresh fruit salad, home-baked goods, breads, yoghurts and fresh coffee or tea every morning. The owners are very lovely people, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, but as previous reviews have mentioned, it's not at all a private or quiet stay, especially during peak times. You can hear every floorboard creak, and once breakfast starts in the dining room below, forget about sleeping. The maid conducted extended conversations with people right...

We are disappointed that your stay was not up to your expectations. As we have mentioned in previous responses, parts of the main farmhouse date back to the 1870’s with two of the upstairs room floors dating back to the mid 1950’s, which makes the place authentic and full of character, something which most people like to experience. The operation...

The owners are friendly and the property is very pretty. Most reviews are positive and that's important to consider. We stayed in room 5 and it was simply not a quiet space. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your stay at Auld Farm Inn was not as quiet as you would have liked it to have been. We are looking into a way of blocking the sound from travelling down from the room above room five, which we will address before we open for the summer season of 2014....

We work hard to create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere at the Inn, so we’re pleased that this came across when you stayed with us. We’ve had a number of people recently refer to our breakfast as ‘simple’ and would appreciate a little more information on what that means, as we feel that we offer a very wide selection and...
