Dinner here definitely made up for a long rainy day. The variety of non-seafood options was a nice change of pace and the chocolate dessert was excellent. A kind of "old-fashioned" sort of place, with excellent service.

We stay in a very clean but small room. This is a classic elder hotel with an awesome staff. The Location is right in downtown Baddeck so everything is within easy walking distance. We were able to sit in the grand living room which was filled with charm & history. We were lucky enough to take pictures tat showed the... More

This was our third visit to Baddeck and our second to Telegraph House. The first was about 40 years earlier before the motel addition. We stayed in the main house, right on the street and thought it might be noisy. It wasn't except for a couple motorcycles early in the evening. The main advantage is that it is right in... More

We stayed in a room you could park in front. It was very homey . Second night we stayed in the hotel itself. Another nice room. It was not modern but very much the style of the age of the hotel. Aleexander Graham Bell stayed here with his wife. It was the original telegraph house.

I'm all for quaint and understand the limitations of motels and small towns. However, this motel was really lacking. Some outlets didn't work. Lamps didn't work. Hair dryer provided didn't work. They don't have air conditioning so they give you a big oscilating fan that resembles the same fan I remember seeing in my father's office when I visited him... More

Service was friendly and adequate. Food was disappointing however. I ordered the crabcakes and they were very salty...my wife ordered a green salad and it was small. We both ordered the halibut and it was bland. No bread was served. Overall very mediocre nothing special.

The main building of the hotel looks great from the outside, although the same cannot be said of the bits out the back: the motel and cabins. We stayed in a cabin which was described as having French country decor which was code for shabby, dated and very, very small. For some reason, despite very vocal air-conditioning, the room was... I stayed here twice, in two different rooms. The motel section is very nice, with a little pod coffee maker, fair wifi, comfortable beds and clean. Next I stayed in the old hotel part. The room was very nice but there was no coffee maker, so be sure to check when you book.

We just stayed for one night but it was very nice, centrally located and had a nice big covered veranda to sit on and enjoy the thunderstorm. The room decor was a little too grandma-ish for me personally but it did not offend.

Stayed at the Telegraph House while touring the Cabot Trail. Would Definetly stay here again, decoration of cabin was incredible. Baddeck is nice little place with lots of restaurants around. Beautiful main lodge and beautiful view!
