We recently visited Nova Scotia for our son's university graduation and a trip to Cabot Trail and Sydney. We stayed 2 nights at Telegraph House Hotel and would definitely go back. Staying at Telegraph House was a welcome comfort at the end of a day of driving through the rain. The owner was extremely accommodating, gave us options on which...

A wonderful gem in a beautiful surrounding. Central to all things Cape Breton, rooms are clean and uniquely decorated. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to ensure a fabulous stay. The restaurant is 100% gluten free and second to no other on this trip. Fast, comfortable and delicious. I cannot praise this amazing place enough. I would...

We arrived late and were welcomed to our three rooms which were clean, fresh and a good sense of a Village Motel. We enjoyed our brief stay and look forward to another visit next time we are in the Eastern part of Canada,

We were in Cape Breton early in the season. Shawn was wonderfully helpful with how best to spend our time on the Cabot Trail. We got excellent pointers on best routes and walks given the weather forecast. His favourite trail to White Point is a hidden gem. Well worth the detour. And we greatly appreciated the larger cottage room which...

We stayed at this hotel for one night and found the room was very outdated. The front desk staff were friendly but the prices for the restaurant were very expensive so we didn't eat there. The price of the room was also very high but everything else was booked so we had no choice but to stay there. It was...

We stayed with Shawn at the time of the American election and he kept us sane. The room was very comfortable, the living room with log fire (and no TV) was wonderful (see photo), and he offered us coffee and tea by the fire at any time. It was almost possible to forget the outside world. We were also offered...

If you like the ambiance of staying in an old historic house then this is the place for you. We were originally offered rooms in the motel part but asked to stay in the main house. They are starting to renovate some of the rooms and our room was in fact recently renovated but the window would not close properly...

Who would not want to stay in a place where Alexander Graham Bell stayed at. It's been in the family for generations so you know it's well taken care of which was obvious. The owner had maps of the Cape Breton trail, a video slide show and told us good places to see. A great personal touch.

The hotel was almost full when we arrived early in the evening but room 35 was still available. Attached to the hotel we like to think it used tot be some kind of a storage room rebuild into a guestroom. It was charming and we quickly booked another night. Good starting point voor the Cabot Trail. And the dining room...

Great location, on main street of Baddeck. Looks a bit tied when you first see it from the outside. When we were there they were painting it so this observation will change when completed. It is an old Victorian type of building so the rooms reflect this. Do not expect modern conveniences, it is an old building and the rooms...
