We are a married couple aged 70+ and travel the globe year after year. We love to enjoy natural beauty and visit historical sites. Our preferred accommodations are pretty boutique hotels and smaller, personal lodges. So we are not only grateful for our travel opportunities, but are also happy to be able to share our experiences with you shortly, including our own photos below:
On our East Canada trip from Halifax to Toronto, we were able to spend 3 nights at Darren's Innisfree B&B. We stayed in the spacious Garden Suite with living room (kitchen / TV), bedroom & bathroom (located behind the house, but still with a view of the forest). In the front part of the house there is a cozy living room for all guests and a beautiful veranda, everything is exceptionally clean, well-kept and tastefully furnished. The owner and host Darren is extremely concerned about his guests and interested in their well-being. However, he shows his greatest skills in his cooking magic: simply outstandingly beautifully presented and magically prepared. So if you miss your meal here, you'll miss out on part of your holiday memories. Darren: Thanks a lot, if we wouldn't live so far, we would come to enjoy your meals weekly!

Our family had 2 rooms here and stayed 2 nights. This is the real thing - awesome full breakfasts every morning! And, the location is literally 5-10 minutes away from Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, which is perfect if you want to spend a day there. We went at high tide in the morning, came back to the B&B, and went back in the afternoon at low tide to walk the ocean floor. This allowed us to not waste any time.

The owner, Daren, is a great communicator and goes out of his way to accommodate his guests. For example, he offered to make reservations for us to go kayaking at Hopewell Rocks, and he sent all the details even down to the tide tables (months in advance) for the exact dates we would be there. Darren is also a chef, and he offers dinner for his guests. He accommodated one of our family members who is allergic to nuts, berries and seafood. HIs meals are excellent and include wine, salad, main course and dessert.

I can't say enough great things about Innisfree Bed & Breakfast! We would definitely stay there again in the future.

We had a really nice room in this beautiful old house where every item has been selected with care. There was a good fridge in the room and Nescafe.

We sat on the porch in the evening watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeders the property provides. Darren, the owner is a chef and he sells the best wine ever which was a wonderful treat. Most people had dinner there too, the food looked delicious. The breakfast was great. Maybe one negative point: I think a Nespresso machine should be provided at least in the breakfast room if not in every room. All in all it is a great place to stay.

If you book dinner you need to be aware of the incredible cost involved. We booked our one-night stay over a month ago, and booked dinner weeks ago, but at no time were we sent a menu or told what the cost would be. Our lovely one-night stay at a New Brunswick Bed&Breakfast for two adults and two children in a garden suite cost us almost $700. We were absolutely shocked when we received the bill in the morning. Family's beware, DO NOT ORDER DINNER, and especially avoid the up-charges on drinks.

There are many wonderful things about Innisfree starting with an amazing location (less than two kilometers from Hopewell Rocks) where you can walk down to the ocean floor at low tide for the Bay of Fundy.

In addition to the great location the B&b itself is quite charming and the host Darren is a classically trained Chef who prepares GREAT meals for the guests. Tonight's entree was a Lobster, Scallop and Shrimp creamy Vodka sauce served over Penne Pasta. Tomorrow's dinner is going to be Filet Mignon served with a Mushroom and Peppercorn Cabernet Sauvignon reduction.

Molto, molto buono!!!

Excellent, attentive, lovely accomodations and great food. Darren is an excellent host as well as cook. Made us feel comfortable when we arrived and we settled in right away. We chose to have dinner at the inn and selected the lobster pasta with shrimp and scallops and tomatoes from his garden. It was delicious as was the salad appetizer and the maple ice cream with home grown rhubarb compote for dessert, magnificent. Breakfast consisted of a mini fruit salad in a cup so detailed followed by blueberry pancakes, maple syrup and bacon. Attention to detail in the room was excellent way above average like types of soaps and even a flashlight for example. One other thing I really liked were the feather pillows. Also a broad front porch with hummingbird feeders and lots of hummingbird action to enjoy. Darren also has beer and wine. Overall an inn of excellent quality.

My wife and I live on the west coast of Canada and have wanted to visit the east coast for some time. We'll, we finally made it & definitely one of the highlights of our trip was staying at the Innesfree Inn. The property exudes Victorian era charm and has been lovingly updated. The rooms are cozy and clean, complete with ensuite bathroom. The bed we slept in was very comfortable and while I enjoyed a restful night's sleep, my wife couldn't seem to shut her brain off and didn't fare as well.
As for the food, our host, Darren (who is a Red Seal chef) provided us with delicious breakfasts made with fresh local ingredients. He gave us the option of having him prepare a dinner for us at additional cost and we "took the bait". The meal was so good, my wife begged Darren for the recipe of the marinade sauce he used in her entree!
Other couples from other parts of the world were staying at the Inn while we were there as well and we enjoyed getting to know each other at mealtimes.
All in all, a most enjoyable stay! Thank you Darren for your hospitality.

"We Took the Bait"....I hooked ya. LOL. Thank you for the lovely comments about your fresh local ingredient breakfast and evening meals. Innisfree does have special charm that I fell in love with in 2020 when I saw it for the first time. I am glad you enjoyed chatting with the other guest while you were here. All the best Darren

The Innesfree B&B in Lower Cape is what you call a Pearl under the tourist accommodations near the Hopewell Rock Park. We, a ruiters couple from Holland, stayed in the garden suite. Very spacial, with a sitting room, a bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom, with shower in the bath tube. There is a fridge and coffee and teamaker. Special recommendation deserves Darren the host, who is a chef and makes very delicious breakfast and provides great dinners.
The B &B is located about 1.5 km of the entrance of the park.

The inn was lovely, beautifully furnished and clean. We stayed there for two nights in order to be close to Hopewell Rocks (which turned out to be too touristy and overrun with people). We had dinner at the inn twice which was a bit pricey but very good. I am only giving the inn 3 stars because the breakfasts were unsatisfactory and there was no options if you didn't like what was served. Our bill for two nights, two dinners and a bottle of wine came to approximately $700 US.

Beautiful facility with lovely rooms hosted by the most responsive and helpful person (Darren) we experienced during our entire trip. He listened to our concerns and answered all our questions promptly. The rooms were spotless; the linens were plush, and the beds were very comfortable. Saving the best for last, let’s talk about the food. Darren prepared a five star dinner that was served in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, and breakfast the following morning included fresh fruit and an omelet (cooked to perfection). If ever in the area, we will definitely stay here again.
