This place really was everything and more than expected. We spent five nights here (after four nights’ safari in Ngorongosa) and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the perfect place to unwind, and the boys and Gem absolutely loved the place – the management team really pulled out the stops while we were staying. We managed to squeeze in plenty of...

We were thrilled to have stayed at Guludo, excellent food, superb location and very helpful and friendly staff. We've never done "eco" before but we were amazed that you didn't need electricity or running water, it was all done so well with parafin laterns etc.. As long as you aren't expecting all the mod cons of a five start hotel...

My boyfriend and I have spent a lot of time in Africa and visited many different countries, but Guludo Beach Lodge in Mozambique topped the table for numerous reasons. The main reasons are 1. The diving… really unbelievable. We did four dives in total and each one blew us away. I’ve dived all over the world but this was gorgeous…...

Just returned from a wonderful week at Guludo. It's difficult to find words to describe just how perfect everything was. The staff are all really nice, nothing was too much trouble. Special mention has to be made for Idriss and his hilarious stories, he truly was absolutely charming and also Nacir the bau playing barman, who made the most delicious...

We picked Guludo because of its community involvement and its environmentally friendly philosophy. We have stayed at similar places in the past and have been extremely happy of our choice. This time it was a great disappointment. The place has a luxury-resort price tag but guesthouse service, and with just 5% of profits going to the community project that leaves...

Guludo offers the whole package: beach paradise, romantic touches, personal service and a glimpse of African bush. But beyond that, and perhaps its most exciting feature, is how they've structured every part of the lodge to benefit the local community in a sustainable and well thought out way. If we were forced to find down sides, we'd say that the...

We’ve just returned from one of the most amazing holidays either of us has ever experienced. We both work in finance in London, needless to say our life is hectic, so we try hard to make the most of any time off that we get. From the moment we landed in Pemba and the exhilarating drive through the villages we...

I had seen it on the TV and on films but always thought these holidays were beyond my reach; the places only the very wealthy or celebrities ever get the chance to go too. Then I went to Guludo. If you want to discover a real life paradise then this is the place to go. To be honest at the...

My husband and I stayed at Guludo for our honeymoon, and when we got back to South Afica, we returned unsatisfied and disappointed in the money we had spent on the trip. Guludo itself is beautiful and the setting idyllic, but we felt totally overpriced for what we recieved. Firstly the food, we were very excited at the idea of...

Guludo is a tropical, barefoot beach paradise; 12km of deserted powder-white sand nestled between the dazzling azure Indian Ocean and wild African Bush. Accommodation provides everything you need and nothing you don’t. With high roofs, gentle sea breezes, alfresco en-suite bathrooms with a stunning “loo with a view”; barefoot luxury never felt more indulgent. The essence of Guludo is relaxation and discovery. Time is spent drifting over magnificent coral reefs, watching humpback whales, visiting islands and mingling in the local village.
