The room was very nice with a private bathroom and an in suite whirlpool bath. Bed and pillows comfortable and nice bedding. The house was the original built in Hankinson and has some nice history behind it. The new owners (Sandy and Marshall) have done a lot to restore the place. The breakfasts were absolutely excellent with all homemade including...

Had a wonderful weekend with Sandy and Marshall, the Proprietors. The accommodations are lovely and the food was wonderful and imaginative. The best parts were the hospitality and getting to know Sandy & Marshall and the history of this wonderful character home. One small inconvenience was the shower in the large jetted tub which not all rooms have.

This place is very clean, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast! We also loved the lake and the beauty of land with a cool old barn and beautiful flowers. The owners are very personable and the house has great character.

The room was perfect! Very neat and clean and cooled with the AC. We had never stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before this occasion. We plan to come back to Lady on the Lake each summer for our anniversary. Great shade on the beach area to sit and relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. The food is outstanding! We...

What a lovely home with beautiful furnishings; loved the inlaid floor. Very comfortable accommodations. I thought my bed was lusciously comfortable and cozy. I had the room with the shower. Breakfast was tasty and conversation good. We played cards on the enclosed back porch.

When my father (Dave Duin) died last year, we knew we had to bury his ashes next to our mother (Jane Linehan) in Hankinson, who passed away 47 years ago in 1969. Our mom babysat for the Whippermans as a young girl, and when we found out their old mansion was now a bed and breakfast...we knew we had to...

We came here from Southern California and were taken back by the surrounding beauty and the lovely home. The proprietors were gracious and informative owners of this very historic house. Breakfast was gourmet. GOURMET! A real surprise. Our room was quiet and the bed comfy and walking around the lake in the early morning was a real treat. Regardless of...

I have been traveling to ND monthly for some time on behalf of a government agency. I made a circuit of locations that are different each time visiting outlying areas. I was in Hankinson in the prior month and had been by Lake Elsie and had seen the bed and breakfast sign. Interestingly enough I also got a recommendation for...

My husband, James and I had a great time at Lady on the Lake this weekend. It was a perfect balance of activity and relaxing. James had fun ice fishing on lake Elsie Saturday afternoon while I enjoyed going to a local winery called With the Wind. Great atmosphere and yummy wine. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner and ended...

Having stayed here in early December, we stepped into a Christmas wonderland. Sandy and Marshall's home was tastefully decorated with more than 25 Christmas trees. This elegant home had been restored thru their efforts. We were greeted with a glass of wine and great conversation. Our bedroom was attractively appointed. The highlight of our visit was Sandy's gourmet breakfast the...
