My sister in laws and I always go to grand forks in dec to do some shopping and girl time. We picked the expressway because of the huge hot tub and large rooms and the price. So good. . Bonus to have a happy hr with drinks and food every day too. Actually was pretty good. Close to canad inn which we walked to and had some applies. Will stay again.
Thank Sue D

Just want to say a big thank you to the management and staff at Expressway Suites GF for doing a great job
I found that the staff were efficient, were always pleasant, and patient even with my repeatedly locking myself out of my room. I did not eat many meals there but when I did they were good. The room service was excellent. I never had any issues with the room itself.
The Hotel is located in a great location for those going to the event center, and a gas station/convenience store is close by. Parking was never a issue for me.
I did not utilize the pool. They have a guest laundry available which is free ,which for someone doing a extended stay is a huge plus. The bed was comfortable, and the heating/cooling unit was average in the amount of noise generated. A nice feature is that you can actually open a window if so inclined. The fridge and microwave worked well. For those needing a place to stay for a extended amount of time or just a night. I found the pricing very competitive with the local competition, and the location is very close to the Hospital, UND, and shopping and dining areas. I would recommend Expressway Suites for sure.
Thank Nebraska

In late July of 2018 we stayed at Expressway Suites, Grand Forks ND. Yet again, for the umpteenth time. It never ever gets old. Great value for your dollar, exemplary cleanliness, quiet late at night, everything that we need in a hotel room and more. Also it is situated perfectly for shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

As outstanding as the hotel accommodations are, the staff and management are even better. Skilled professionals, genuinely polite and courteous along with good senses of humour. Which makes for a feeling of being home while away from home. Corey, the front desk supervisor is a prime example of what these good folks are all about.

When in Grand Forks this is where we always stay and will continue to do so, now and into the future. You just can’t beat this lodging experience !
Thank Grant B

Had stayed here shortly after they opened a few years back and it was excellent. This time was not so good. Stayed there with my wife and our daughter.
Service was poor; at check in they seemed to act like we were disturbing him by trying to check in and was annoyed when we asked any questions, like where the elevator was, which side of the building our room was on, etc. Once we got our room key we tried to find a luggage trolley to bring our luggage in. Could not find a trolley anywhere and nobody would respond to the bell (even though I could here someone moving around and peeking around the corner whenever I stopped making any noise - checking to see if I was gone yet). So I had to carry everything in by hand with a back injury - took 7-8 trips as we had already spent the day shopping.
Beds were awful; if someone moved the slightest bit the other person almost bounced off the bed. Pillows were tiny and very hard to sleep on. Front desk was very quick when we requested extra pillows and blankets.
Breakfast has also gone downhill - eggs (scrambled and hard boiled), sausage patties, ham or farmer's sausage patties (varied day-to-day), waffles (orig and apple cinnamon on Monday and Banana Nut on Tuesday), cold cereals, bread, bagels, yogurt, apples, oranges, strawberries, orange juice, apple juice, milk, coffee, tea, etc.
Monday morning got woken up at 6:00 am by grass being cut in the field across the back road (our room faced this side)
Wee also able to make use of the library in the games room and our daughter loved the pool. Pool had one group of 2 families basically taking over the pool and hot tub area and being very rowdy, disruptive and dangerous throwing balls at people's faces, screaming, punching, kicking and spitting, etc. parents were not only not controlling it, but actually starting it (not the hotel's fault for bad parenting, but they should have someone occasionally monitor the pool area). Tuesday morning in the pool. we actually had to walk around all of the food left on the floor and on tables, presumably from the night before (this was approx 9 am - pool opens at 7 am and the wood was fries, pizza crust, etc.).
No kid-friendly TV channels for a 4 yr old
Very close to Alerus Center, but really not much else; would recommend if you are there for an event at Alerus, but would not recommend if there for any other reason, as nothing else is really very close
Noise level in rooms was acceptable, but in the hallways was awful!
Burnt out light bulbs in room
Thank Jim P
