I was driving by, and saw this clearly abandoned motel. Delightfully creepy. I had to stop, and would have liked to look around, but there were lots of places for people to lie in wait... Also, the air smelled like death. Wildlife, or the last passerby who wanted to get out and look around? I didn't stay to find out.

This place is obviously closed and currently a squatters paradise. There was trash and furniture tossed all over the parking lot. Police tape across a lot of the doors. Scary messages taped to some of the other doors. Needles on the sidewalk and the list goes on. There was actually blood splatter on one of the hotel doors. It was...

The motel is for sale and apparently they are not overly concerned with current customers. The sign on the lobby door said go to room 118 or the restaurant to rent a room. The "restaurant" was a room filled with slot machines and no food. The young man working the counter had to make two phone calls to get instructions...

Went back to the Teddy Bear and the Old owners are back and the rooms smell and it is not the same as it was. Yuk

My husband, children and I stayed here the last two nights. The hospitality was the best I have ever seen. I work at hotel as an assistant manager, so I know the value of good customer service. We stayed at the Teddy Bear Motel because it is right by Smoky Moutain National Park but far enough away to not be inendated by other tourists. The scenery was stupendous and I was glad to have dinner at the same location. The food was pretty darn good too. The hospitality made me feel like is was visiting with cousins...
