This was by far one of the best Inns for people and their dogs, or pets I imagine. We have to german shepherds, they were welcome and even got to sit by the breakfast table, as long as they were well behaved. The first night there was a small dog in another room that barked occasionally, which started ours going,...

Marilyn is one of the most delightful hostesses I've ever encountered. She bends over backwards to ensure the comfort of her guests. She is also an amazing cook and I was very well fed with very healthy and amazingly delicious dinner and breakfast. The history of the structure is fascinating and Marilyn's obvious delight in it is wonderful. I wouldn't...

From the moment of arrival to that of departure, Marilyn is the consummate hostess and innkeeper. And her culinary skills are outstanding. Rarely have I encountered such a perfect combination. The accomodations are very clean, comfortable and varied to your needs and tastes. You will want to return for sure. Thank you Marilyn!

We recently visited Marilyn and her "Old Dame", as she likes to call it. The Melrose Inn was decorated with a lot of various knick knacks, themed rooms, and provides each guest with an immediate sense of coziness. The Inn is much larger than what we ever expected. Each hall packs a new surprise. Our company chose to have our...

Marilyn, the owner of the "Old Dame" is a gracious hostess. From the moment you walk into the 125 year old property, you can feel how special it is. All the wonderful details from years gone by are still in tact. The rooms are themed beautifully. Throughout the property you will find Marilyn's exquisite quilts. She has a talent for...

This place looks as much like a movie set or an over-inventoried antiquities shop than a B&B, from the front yard right up the steps and into the foyer, the parlor, sitting room, dining room(s) and stairs, hall and bedrooms, the furnishings, decorations, and accessories are all but overwhelming. We were just one night and the mild fall weather called...

Wonderful stay in every way. I loved the eclectic décor! Everything about the place was fun. Marilyn, the owner, is a fabulous cook on top of being the hostess with the mostess. Very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, birds chirping in the garden, charming and expansive front porch, the best of Southern hospitality.
