Cabo de La Vela is not a luxury destination, but Rancheria Utta does a lot to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The staff is super friendly and my family and I felt safe at all times. The restaurant has good local food, but be prepared to wait. We took playing cards to pass the time while we waited...

I was there with my family for 1 night, it is a very quiet place, right beside the beach, there is no luxury, it is an echocological hotel, the food is delicious and the people is very kind, the price is very good, You can sleep in a hamac or in bed!! I strongly recomend this place is almost paradise.

We arrived here in the early afternoon. We knew it was going to be basic, but basic and still be clean. This wasn't. When we were shown our room, a member of staff was still desultorily sweeping it out and flicking sand off the beds. The sheets hadn't been changed, and we had to get our guide to get new...

Keep your valuables on you at all times and even have your belongings in the room in a locked bag. Our cabana was at the front of the property and we believe someone has climbed into the room through the open wall partition whilst we were eating breakfast. Items that were stolen include two head torches, a small torch, a...

No doubt this is the best place compare to other 'rancherias' nearby. This region is humble and full of indigenous people what makes this place a real local experience. Delicious food and not overpriced. If you dont like hammocks they have nice rooms to stay as well as with private bathroom.

It was a great experience. The location and food are very good and simple and the owner Michael was very polite with us. We stayed there for 4 days and we took a tour packet: knowing about the Wayiu culture and their habits was great; the beaches and seasides are wonderful.

I arrived at about 4pm, I went for the hammock option, as there was only two other people and a fair number of staff, I thought it wouldn't take long. After an hour of waiting I gave up and went to watch the sunset. I came back after and attempted to check in again. An hour later, nothing. By this...

We stayed there for 2 nights. A good place to escape from the crowd if you avoid peak season. It is still 40 min walk from Cabo de la Vela village, so if you do not have your own transportation keep in mind it takes some time to get there. The good thing is they serve tasty and affordable meals...

This was my second stay here and it was equally as pleasant and relaxing as the first time. I'm a wimp so we stayed in the huts with beds - a bit more privacy that way as the hammocks are out with the rest of the guests. It's also really nice to have cement floors to get a break from...

Excellent setting. Lovely beaches nearby. Careful! Camera stolen and next day phone charger stolen from locked room. Chatting to folk in the area and town we found out this was common (rumor has it). The administrator knows this will damage the family business and says he will take action. Reported it to the police who, off the record, said this...
